[Xen-devel] early crash with xen-3.1.0 and auto_translated_physmap
hi. has anybody been successfully booting domains with auto_translated_physmap lately? just tried xen 3.1.0 and got console as shown below. tried to figure out what domU is doing, but xc_core_x86 doesn''t work either: ''p2m_size < nr_pages -1 (0 < 3ffe)'' any suggestions how/where to attack this? regards, daniel -- Daniel Stodden LRR - Lehrstuhl für Rechnertechnik und Rechnerorganisation Institut für Informatik der TU München D-85748 Garching http://www.lrr.in.tum.de/~stodden mailto:stodden@cs.tum.edu PGP Fingerprint: F5A4 1575 4C56 E26A 0B33 3D80 457E 82AE B0D8 735B _______________________________________________ Xen-devel mailing list Xen-devel@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-devel

Re: [Xen-devel] early crash with xen-3.1.0 and auto_translated_physmap
auto_translated_physmap is not a supported configuration for PV guests. Probably it should be removed as an option. -- Keir On 30/9/07 21:19, "Daniel Stodden" <stodden@cs.tum.edu> wrote:> > hi. > > has anybody been successfully booting domains with > auto_translated_physmap lately? > > just tried xen 3.1.0 and got console as shown below. > > tried to figure out what domU is doing, but xc_core_x86 doesn''t work > either: > ''p2m_size < nr_pages -1 (0 < 3ffe)'' > > any suggestions how/where to attack this? > > regards, > daniel > >_______________________________________________ Xen-devel mailing list Xen-devel@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-devel

See xc_core_arch_auto_translated_physmap() in xc_core_x86.c You may want to modify it. -- yamahata _______________________________________________ Xen-devel mailing list Xen-devel@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-devel

It''s certainly not a ''core'' feature. -- Keir _______________________________________________ Xen-devel mailing list Xen-devel@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-devel

Re: [Xen-devel] early crash with xen-3.1.0 and auto_translated_physmap
I have a set of patches that make this work, but they are against 3.0.4... Bringing them up-to-date would be pretty easy, I think, *except* for the domain builder, which has entired changed since then. Translated PV domains *are* useful for various research efforts...
