[Xen-devel] Is live migrate a guest from 32bit platform to 64bit platform a supported feature?
Hi, I tried to live migrate a 32bit guest from 32bit platform to 64bit platform, but met failure, so I''d like to consult that is this a supported feature? For the time beeing the kernel must use the same bitsize as the hypervisor. So you need a 64bit kernel when using a 64bit hypervisor. The migrated 32bit kernel still is 32bit. The upcomming 3.0.5 is supposed to support 32bit kernel (pae only) on 64bit. So it might be possible to migrate a 32bit-pae domu to a 64bit hypervisor. -- /"\ Goetz Bock at blacknet dot de -- secure mobile Linux everNETting \ / (c) 2007 Creative Commons, Attribution-ShareAlike 2.0 de X [ 1.
