We have tested the latest xen on VT platform with Intel 915/E8500
chipset.
Three platforms(32/PAE/32E) test all are based on SMP, It means that we
boot up SMP guest OS in VMX.
Here is the test summary:
Issues:
1).IA32: Build linux 2.6.16 kernel in IA32 non-pae SMP VMX domain
sometimes pass, but sometimes not,about 30% chance to build
successfully.
2).I start four VMX domains like this: after one VMX domain boot up to
the "login" screen successfully, then start next one.
1.four IA32 non-pae SMP VMX domains coexist in IA32
non-pae SMP xen0 failed.when starting the fourth one, xen0 hangs, see
attachment "four_VMX_ia32platform" for details.
Note: This issue is hardware specific, and some platform could not
reproduce.
2.four IA32 non-pae SMP VMX domains coexist in PAE SMP
xen0 passed, it works well. Four PAE SMP VMX domains coexist in PAE SMP
xen0 works well too.
3.four IA32 non-pae SMP VMX domains coexist in IA32E SMP
xen0 passed, but it is very inefficient. Start the first and second one
normally, but it takes almost one hour to start the third and fourth
one. four PAE SMP VMX domains coexist and four IA32E SMP VMX domains
coexist works well in IA32E SMP xen0.
3) Starting 4 VMX in a short time, and one of the VMXs failed with
error:
"Error: Device 768 (vbd) could not be connected. Hotplug scripts not
working."
