[Xen-devel] (XEN) Ouch! We are seriously BEHIND schedule! -456776755
I am running xm-test on a couple of IBM xSeries machines, both PAE enabled, SLES 9 SP2 based with 4GB ram; the other with FC4 and 2GB RAM. I am seeing a large number of "(XEN) Ouch!..." messages (below). I need to check the results on non PAE enabled boxes to see if that is a factor. changeset: 7029:43edce5b75d6 tag: tip user: kaf24@firebug.cl.cam.ac.uk date: Thu Sep 22 14:59:31 2005 +0100 summary: Remove file from sparse tree. Re: [Xen-devel] (XEN) Ouch! We are seriously BEHIND schedule! -456776755
I continue to see this problem while running xm-test. My IBM xSeries 335 4GB RAM, SLES 9 PAE enabled, is currently in a semi-comatose state. I can ssh into it, do some things, but I can''t reboot it. Some commands such as ''top'' just hang there with not output. xm-test is stuck at the moment. changeset: 7055:5ea81e640509 tag: tip user: kaf24@firebug.cl.cam.ac.uk date: Sun Sep 25 05:47:22 2005 +0100 summary: Fix so that ''make uninstall'' won''t fail if /etc/xen x335b:/tmp/xen-unstable.hg # ps aux | grep xm root 16820 0.0 0.2 2596 1108 pts/0 S+ 14:17 0:00 /bin/sh ./runtest.sh /tmp/logs/xm-test/x335b-2ndrun-0926 root 18660 0.0 0.2 2600 1132 pts/0 S+ 14:18 0:00 /bin/sh -c failed=0; all=0; xfail=0; xpass=0; skip=0; srcdir=.; export srcdir; list=''01_destroy_basic_pos.test 02_destroy_noparm_neg.test 03_destroy_nonexist_neg.test 04_destroy_badparm_neg.test 05_destroy_byid_pos.test 06_destroy_dom0_neg.test''; if test -n "$list"; then for tst in $list; do if test -f ./$tst; then dir=./; elif test -f $tst; then dir=; else dir="./"; fi; if PYTHONPATH=/tmp/xm-test/lib RD_PATH=/tmp/xm-test/ramdisk ${dir}$tst; then all=`expr $all + 1`; case " " in *" $tst "*) xpass=`expr $xpass + 1`; failed=`expr $failed + 1`; echo "XPASS: $tst"; ;; *) echo "PASS: $tst"; ;; esac; elif test $? -ne 77; then all=`expr $all + 1`; case " " in *" $tst "*) xfail=`expr $xfail + 1`; echo "XFAIL: $tst"; ;; *) failed=`expr $failed + 1`; echo "FAIL: $tst"; ;; esac; else skip=`expr $skip + 1`; echo "SKIP: $tst"; fi; done; if test "$failed" -eq 0; then if test "$xfail" -eq 0; then banner="All $all tests passed"; else banner="All $all tests behaved as expected ($xfail expected failures)"; fi; else if test "$xpass" -eq 0; then banner="$failed of $all tests failed"; else banner="$failed of $all tests did not behave as expected ($xpass unexpected passes)"; fi; fi; dashes="$banner"; skipped=""; if test "$skip" -ne 0; then skipped="($skip tests were not run)"; test `echo "$skipped" | wc -c` -le `echo "$banner" | wc -c` || dashes="$skipped"; fi; report=""; if test "$failed" -ne 0 && test -n ""; then report="Please report to "; test `echo "$report" | wc -c` -le `echo "$banner" | wc -c` || dashes="$report"; fi; dashes=`echo "$dashes" | sed s/./=/g`; echo "$dashes"; echo "$banner"; test -z "$skipped" || echo "$skipped"; test -z "$report" || echo "$report"; echo "$dashes"; test "$failed" -eq 0; else :; fi (XEN) (file=memory.c, line=57) Could not allocate order=0 extent: id=6 flags=0 ( 37702 of 63159) (XEN) Ouch! The machine is in a semi-responsive state. Some commands respond, others do not. For example, I tried ''tail /tmp/results-file'' and no output is ever produced, nor does it return to the prompt; it just hangs there. Lmbench is running on dom0, and either LTP or Lmbench is running on a guest domain (I can''t tell which, since it is not responding). x235:~ # xm dmesg __ __ _____ ___ _ _ \ \/ /___ _ __ |___ / / _ \ __| | _____ _____| | \ // _ \ ''_ \ |_ \| | | |__ / _` |/ _ \ \ / / _ \ | / \ __/ | | | ___) | |_| |__| (_| | __/\ V / __/ | /_/\_\___|_| |_| |____(_)___/ \__,_|\___| \_/ \___|_| http://www.cl.cam.ac.uk/netos/xen University of Cambridge Computer Laboratory Xen version 3.0-devel (root@ltc.austin.ibm.com) (gcc version 3.3.3 (SuSE Linux) ) Tue Sep 27 09:33:58 CDT 2005 Latest ChangeSet: Tue Sep 27 09:11:59 2005 +0100 a172340ae3f3 (XEN) Physical RAM map: (XEN) 0000000000000000 - 000000000009d400 (usable) (XEN) 000000000009d400 - 00000000000a0000 (reserved) (XEN) 00000000000e0000 - 0000000000100000 (reserved) (XEN) 0000000000100000 - 000000003ffd8780 (usable) (XEN) 000000003ffd8780 - 000000003ffe0000 (ACPI data) (XEN) 000000003ffe0000 - 0000000040000000 (reserved) (XEN) 00000000fec00000 - 0000000100000000 (reserved) (XEN) System RAM: 1023MB (1048020kB) (XEN) Xen heap: 10MB (10632kB) (XEN) PAE disabled.
