I guess this is mostly for Curt, but I wanted to toss it out there. I could really use a wiki to capture the information that gets posted to this list. Eventually we''ll want FAQ''s and HOWTO''s, as well as a "real" manual, and the wiki is great for collecting raw material. Also, we should have links to related projects, like wxrbbr, and projects written in wxRuby, like pictorG and space monkeys. I know the rubyforge folks were thinking about giving each project a wiki. Have you (Curt) heard anything about that recently? Kevin

Have you (Curt) heard anything about that recently?I agree, a wiki is definitely needed. I think that adding wiki-per-project support to GForge (the software used by RubyForge) turned out to be more work than they anticipated and I don''t think they currently have the bandwidth available to do it. In the interim, I have been setting up wikis as subdomains on my personal domain (which is hosted by a commercial provider). I can set one up tonight if you don''t mind my name being in the URL, which would be: http://wxruby.curthibbs.com/ The subdomain, itself takes about 24 hours to become active, so the URL would not work until sometime later tomorrow. Unless, you have an objection, I will go ahead and set it up tonight. Curt
I just asked Tom to put the same Wiki FreeRIDE uses up for wxruby on RubyForge. -rich On Nov 11, 2003, at 11:22 PM, Kevin Smith wrote:> I guess this is mostly for Curt, but I wanted to toss it out there. Also, just as a note for the future, when you do get around to implementing a wiki-per-project, you might want to consider tiki (http://tikiwiki.org/) -- its what I have been using elsewhere. Its very well done (in PHP) and modular with plugins for lots of functionality beyond the wiki (although, so far I have only enabled and used the wiki part(). Kevin -- I won''t put anything on my personal website. As soon as Tom gets the wxruby wiki ready we can start adding content there. At that point I will recreate our current project page at http://wxruby.rubyforge.org with the similar content (because this URL will then become the home page for the wiki). Curt

Let me know if you want the WxRuby home page redirected to the Wiki or anything like that... Yours, tom
