Initial Comment:
I am working on a text editor using wxRuby (I believe I''m using
wxruby-1.9.5-i386-mswin32) and I''m having significant problems getting
the text selection in a TextCtrl to work as it does in Microsoft Word (2007), or
the other Microsoft text editing interfaces that I''ve tried (Notepad
and the default Visual Studio 2005 editor).  For example, if I click in the
middle of a line of text somewhere in the middle of a document and then give a
sequence like:

SHIFT+UP_ARROW
SHIFT+UP_ARROW
SHIFT+DOWN_ARROW
SHIFT+DOWN_ARROW
SHIFT+DOWN_ARROW

I don''t get the same selections as I get in Word.  I think there the
problem is probably in wxRuby or wxWidgets.  If so, is this something that could
be fixed?
