wine users - Sep 2009 - 'Who am I" test says Wine is Windows 98. Change to show XP?

The results of of one of those "Who Am I" tests shows that IE is
saying that I am in Windows 98.  Which, of course, falls back to Wine.

I need my IE in Wine to show that I am in XP.  Is this possible in anyway or is
does this basically come down to the entire structure of Wine?

I am in OSX btw.  Thx

In winecfg is the windows version set to 98? IIRC it's set to 2000 as
default, but that's what I would check first.

Yeah, it's already set to Windows XP and still shows up as if I am in 98.

Are you running a native IE or Wine's IE? Also, do you have any application
specific settings in winecfg? It could happe n that you'd set settings for
IE itself there.

Because my office is retarded and they require me to be on IE to do access a few
things.   I was thinking of trying to install IE7 or IE8, but I figured those
would be infinitely more difficult since only IE6 seems to be the only ported
version.

Thanks, but I just tried it, and Opera can't even get into the system LOL. 
They use some crazy java scripts that only seem to work in IE.

Oh well.  I guess I'll keep using Fusion till I figure something out! Thx
