Hi all, real new to Linux. Installede Linux 09 and d/loaded Wine but where the hell do you go to get it installed. And before anyone says go here and there, been there but still cannot find out where to actually go to install this program. What do I actually have to do/go to to get this program up and running. All help would be greatly appreciated.

If it's a binary package, ask your distro how to use their package manager; that's not a Wine question. If you're building from source, the instructions are here: http://wiki.winehq.org/Recommended_Packages http://wiki.winehq.org/WineOn64bit
Hi Demisio, thanks for reply. First, I guess "Distro" is the version. All I know is it says Linux 2009. Where can I find out what version this is? When I fire up control centre it says KDE control centre. Where can I look to find out which version? Thanks

imac wrote:> Thanks Dimesio and DaVince. I purchased this OS from Ebay and it just says PC Linux OS 2009. Will dig a bit deeper and see what I can find out. Appreciate the help, guess you get quite a bit of calls for help. Having only used windows from 3.1 to vista Linux seems to be from another planet, although in saying that it doeas seem to operate bit smoother especially on the net. > CheersSo your distro is PCLinuxOS. You need to check their documentation and support forum for how to install packages. http://www.pclinuxos.com/
