I am a Linux newbie so please do not assume too much knowledge on my part. I am trying to install Mdaemon v9.0.6 mail server on a Kubuntu 9.04 box using Wine. However when I attempt to install, I get an Mdaemon error msg saying that Network Interface is a requisite and installation is aborted [Question] I have a very old Mdaemon v 3.57 which does install and runs properly so there clearly IS a network interface for the program to work properly. I do have to change the port numbers it uses from 25 to 1025 and from 110 to 1110 as the ports below 1024 don't seem to be activated by Mdaemon. So question is how do I configure Wine so that a Network Interface is "seen" by the Windows application. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Simon
What Wine version do you use? Did you also had a look at this page? http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=12910
I am using Wine 1.0.1 which is the latest stable version I believe. Also I had seen the reference to Mdaemon you posted but it basically says that it "works" with no indication of what, if any, configuration was needed. I also tried the latest Mdaemon v10 which has a free version just to see if it would install but same error msg ("requires Network Interface"). So I am still baffled. Simon
