wine users - Aug 2009 - wine 1.1.28?

hello, im new to ubuntu and wine..and i pretty much only have a vague
understanding of how things get installed in ubuntu

my question is, how do i install wine 1.1.28 in ubuntu 9.04 64bit? i've
already downloaded the wine-1.1.28.tar.bz2 file on the desktop..

and how do i get 32bit lib?

You need .deb file, not .tar.bz2

thanx..i found the appropriate deb file from the link..got wine updated now..

You might want to get the debian (.deb) file and save yourself the work
and hassle of building Wine.
