I have, I think, successfully installed Wine 1.0.1 on Ubuntu 9.04. Notepad seems to work and I managed to install an app although I uninstalled it again as the app didn't run. However, if I browse the c: drive and go to Program Files > Internet Explorer and try to run iexplore.exe all I get is a window with just Wine Internet Explorer in the window but no IE. Am I missing something? Thanks G.

Am I missing something?Wine doesn't bundle internet explorer...that's microsoft's software. Wine Internet Explorer is based on Mozilla gecko code, and is used by apps that use IE for rendering. If you need 'real' ie, use winetricks to install it, though it's not really supported. -- -Austin
Thanks for explaining - my brain has been hurting all day trying to get Dreamweaver installed...
