[Wine] Getting CD music to work (Heroes of Might and Magic II)
I'm playing Heroes of Might and Magic II, and it's working as expected--except that music from the CD will not play (all other sounds work fine). This is an issue not experienced by other users, so I have some hope that it can be solved; I'm just not sure how to do it, though. I hope someone can give me a hint. Heroes of Might and Magic II includes the CD music as audio CD tracks. This means that you put the CD in your audio CD player, skip track 1, and listen to the music. However, it also means that my Linux distribution (Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid Ibex) mounts the CD as two separate parts: one for data and one for audio. Could this be the cause of the CD music not playing? If so, is there a way around this? Thanks in advance for any tips!

Under Windows the cd audio plays fine, but under Wine, I don't think the required functionality is implemented yet.

[Wine] Re: Getting CD music to work (Heroes of Might and Magic II)
The problem has been solved in Wine 1.1.16. (Two days after I completedthe game! ;) ) I;m assuming that this line from the release notes has something to with it:> Support for digital CD audio playback. Thanks you, Chris Robinson! :)
