wine users - Jul 2008 - help a newbie; X (font?) error with "gold" app?

I'm trying to run this app:

The AppDB page mentioned 5 dlls that had to be native or native, builtin.  Set
these overrides in winecfg.  Am I supposed to do something else like copy files
from my windows partition?

A ran "winetricks vcrun2003" and "winetricks riched20".  At
this point I could bring the app up, but some characters were not displaying. 
(It's a foreign language app with non-ascii chars.)

So I ran "winetricks allfonts" and now it doesn't come up anymore
and I see:

Any ideas?

The instructions in the AppDB for this program are for an old version of Wine.
The overrides specified may or may not be needed any more, and if they're
not, they could be what's preventing your program from working. Try
installing it to a clean wineprefix without any overrides, and if it doesn't
run, post console output.

Are you saying the install completed successfully despite all the ole errors?
