[Wine] Weird problem with OpenGl based games (Quake 3 engine)
I will try to explain the best I can - but honestly... it may be hard to understand what I am talking about anyway... Problem is like this - whatever I try to play OpenGL based game that uses Quake 3 engine I got weird mouse "jumps". Let's take Soldier of Fortune 2 Demo as it can be downloaded for free. When in jungle I try to look left or right - mouse jumps slightly (the transition of the cross hair not smooth) and it is very hard to hit anything. This is not performance problem ? I got hundreds of FPS, also this does not occur under Cedega or earlier Wine (I remember I tried wine-0.9.15 or something near that ? this problem was not there). Any suggestions? My PC: ECS K7VTA3B KT333 Duron 1200 384 MB RAM GeForce 5200 128 MB (Nvidia 9755 driver installed ? same problems with newest driver) SoundBlaster 5.1 Live! [Wine] Re: Weird problem with OpenGl based games (Quake 3 engine)
Hi, I have tried to reproduce this using the Soldier of Fortune II Demo (using Wine 1.0 rc1) and am not seeing this issue. However, I am using a laptop PC, so it may be an issue with using a mouse instead of a touchpad. Also, there is an issue in that relative mouse movements are not being reported by the desktop (X11) that should be addressed in a future update of the desktop. This issue impacts several games and could be what you are experiencing. What version of wine are you using? You may also want to see if there are any existing or similar issues in bugzilla. You may also want to add test results to the application database (AppDB), as I have found that the results submitted for Soldier are using very old versions. Doing these things will help the developers and other users. I'm sorry I could not be of more help. - Reece

Any suggestions?have you tried running a regression test ? -- Marcel W. Wysocki <maci at satgnu.net> -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed...
