wine users - Apr 2008 - regedit not working

Hi,
 I am running
 wine 0.9..58
 ubuntu 8.04

Dual booting Windows Vista and configured Wine to use the Windows partition. 

When I try running regedit, I get the following error.

Don't do this!

Remove your ~/.wine directory and recreate it with:
$ wineprefixcreate

Wine does not support this. Reinstall your apps in wine.

Don't! Wine no longer support such setup. Let Wine create it's own
"fake c:" drive. And us that instead. That means you have to reinstall
all the programs you want to use on Wine.

I did the mentioned steps (deleting and re-running wineprefi...) 
And now when I try to install, I get
