Hi, i try to install a good french geography game (http://olivier.leflon.free.fr/jeux/france.htm) under Fedora Core 4 and wine-20050524. The game installation under wine is ok i can run it without any problem but i begin to play i can see the numeric (score) doesn't work (nothing in it). If i copy oleaut32.dll from windows/system to the game directory the numeric (score) works well but the drawings which was black become grey as the background colour so i see nothing and i can't play!! I would like to make this game available for my students (and me of course ..). Someone has an idea to help me. Thanks
Hi Eric, This is not a fix, just some further information. I tried running it, and I see the same thing you describe. The "score" box and another box below it are black rectangles with little white dots at the top. When the mouse pointer moves over these rectangles, it looks like a text-box cursor. The high score list (I think it's the high score list...) looks similar. Clicking on any of these black rectangles and moving the mouse around can make the small white dots at the top of the rectangle move. My interpretation of this is that the score, etc. are drawn as text boxes, and that under wine the fonts are extremely tiny. I think those small white dots are the actual text that you should see in the boxes. - Walter On Thu, 18 Aug 2005, Eric Tanguy wrote:> Hi, i try to install a good french geography game > (http://olivier.leflon.free.fr/jeux/france.htm) under Fedora Core 4 and > wine-20050524. Hi Eric, A little more information: this is a Visual Basic program, and this tiny-font effect comes up sometimes in VB programs with Wine's oleaut32. It also happens in the "OK" button of the high scores window here. I've seen it happen on some of the buttons of other programs, too. I have no idea how to fix it, though! - Walter On Thu, 18 Aug 2005, Eric Tanguy wrote:> Hi, i try to install a good french geography game > (http://olivier.leflon.free.fr/jeux/france.htm) under Fedora Core 4 and > wine-20050524.
