[Wine]Is anyone using X.org instead of XFree86 implementation of X Windows?
I just upgraded my machine from Slackware 9.1 (using XFree86) to Slackware 10.0 which uses X.org instead. A simple notepad.exe gives errors when started. This did not have this problem under the previous setup. Is anyone using X.org ???

I switced middle of last week and haven't done much testing yet, however I have seen a couple of problems. In one case I'm not getting menus correctly in M$ Word. don't know what this means or whether it's truly an xorg issue. The other problem I'm seeing is not wine specific. - Mark

Try this package http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/wine/Wine-20040716-i686-S10.md5?download If you're building from source, recompile with the X.org headers. Ivan.

[Wine]Re: Is anyone using X.org instead of XFree86 implementation of X Windows?
I tried downloading and installing Wine-20040716-i686-S10nodebug.tgz ... I get the same as before. I'm assuming it is not necessary to restart X if I have all the WINE applications closed. Specifically when I click File -> Save and use the drop down box to select a drive it has no drives listed. I'll tinker some with it tonight. I just had a few minutes on my break. ----- Original Message ----- From: Ivan Leo Puoti <puoti@inwind.it> Date: Monday, August 2, 2004 3:35 pm Subject: Re: Is anyone using X.org instead of XFree86 implementation of X Windows?> Try this package > http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/wine/Wine-20040716-i686- > S10.md5?downloadIf you're building from source, recompile with the > X.org headers. > > Ivan. > >

I just had a few minutes on my break. You'll have to create some drives, just link $HOME/.wine/dosdevices/y: to $HOME and you'll have a Y: driver that corrispnds to your home dir. You can do the same for all drivers. Ivan.
