The bug report seems to be solved, and I've read about lots of people running office2k installer, it first worked with wine-20020411, and if this has been broken, it should be considered a regression. Also, you can't just copy ole32.dll to the fake c:\windows\system, you must set it to run native, run wine with no arguments to get the list of options, one allows you to specify which dlls must be used as native. Also on this appdb page quite a few people report about sucessfully running the offices 2k setup in wine without windows http://appdb.winehq.com/appview.php?appId=10&versionId=67 If this is broken in current wine, you can install office with an old version of wine, then upgrade to wine current (That will probably run office better).
