YES, this now gives me a filled out screen and active mouse areas. I
clicked on the "Install your Rex 6000" and it gave me another screen -
read
and agree to license, then clicked on Next dialog button.
[user1@hoho0 cdrom]$ wine ./Setup.exe
Invoking /opt/wine/bin/wine.bin ./Setup.exe ...

On the actual screen, the message says:
Please wait while files are copied to your hard drive
There is a progress bar at the bottom of this window, but it does not move.
Whole installation process is hung at this point. From the messages above
in the terminal window, I would guess that the process is waiting to access
window 10021, which might be the progress bar (?). Somehow it is getting
the wrong pointer, or perhaps doesn't know how to do progress bars (??).
Looking at 'ps ax' below shows a number of wine related processes.
[user1@hoho0 user1]$
23660 pts/0 S 0:00 /bin/sh /usr/bin/wine ./Setup.exe
23682 pts/0 S 0:00 /bin/sh /usr/bin/wine ./Setup.exe
23683 pts/0 S 0:00 tee /tmp/wine.log.CkZnCK
23684 pts/0 S 0:01 /opt/wine/bin/wine.bin ./Setup.exe
23686 ? S 0:02 wineserver
23687 pts/0 S 0:02 /opt/wine/bin/wine.bin -- D:\GUIDIRECTOR.EXE
23693 pts/6 S 0:00 bash
23721 pts/6 R 0:00 ps ax
[user1@hoho0 user1]$
(I repeated this a couple of times. No wine processes before start, then
processes as shown)
In any case, no files have been written from cdrom to hd (but directories
have been created).
Any more suggestions? I'm game to try.

--- I clicked on debug and watched as the process repeated, with a lot more
debug messages on the screen. It seemed like whenever I would move the
mouse, more messages would be written to the screen, so the lines below
probably have no relation to the real problem, but just are mouse tracks.
