Here's what we need for a BIG popularity boost: Good interfaces! Yeah yeah, i know, i'll be bitched at on how I should do it on my own, but one thing that always ticked me about MP3 - the lack of tools that do the job without the mess. What we need now is - an ID tag editor. Menu-driven, that means CLI or GUI. We need that, badly. Encoder - GUIs for X and MS Windows. Right now, encoding and naming a set of .wavs is a real pain. Once that works, we'll have a good user base, hopefully. -- Robert J. Visit http://idea.lly.org/~rcw/abcde/development/ and pick up a copy of abcde 1.9.6 (or if you're running Debian, point it at unstable and type 'apt-get install abcde'). Insert the CD, type abcde, get a cup of... whatever, and enjoy your properly-named and commented Oggs. -- Robert Woodcock - rcw@debian.org "Obviously some modifications are going to be made in order to make sure that national security is intact" -- Andy Radlow, Vodafone AirTouch --- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ Ogg project homepage: http://www.xiph.org/ogg/ To unsubscribe from this list, send a message to 'vorbis-request@xiph.org' containing only the word 'unsubscribe' in the body. All of these applications have good interfaces, and all support Ogg Vorbis in addition to MP3. -- Chris -- Christopher M.
