latest libao and ogg123 sources are in the MAIN branch of the 'ao' and
'vorbis-tools' modules, respectively, as has been mentioned several
times
recently.

Patching is usually against 'MAIN', but currently we're using
'branch_postbeta2' on the 'vorbis' module only.
There's a commit announcement mailinglist I find very helpful in keeping
up with development, though it's not mentioned anywhere on the website.
