[theora-dev] New to list, would like to help testing
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hey everyone, I'm new to the list, and while I'm not really a theora developer (I'm actually a PHP web developer, primarily), I noticed in the archives several requests for testing for new Theora code. I've been using code from the theora's SVN trunk for the past couple of weeks, actually, and I've really enjoyed working with the great improvements that Thusnelda has brought. I've noticed, on some cases, Thusnelda far exceeding ffmpeg's MPEG-4 ASP and even approaching (and, perhaps, surpassing) the libx264 encoding quality in my own private tests. Most of my tests actually involve taking time-lapse stills (sometimes a single set will contain 1500 images) and converting that into a movie. I usually work with resolutions ranging from 640x480 through to 1280x720 (and sometimes 1024x768, which I tried for making a slideshow/video). Forgive me if I'm not following any proper etiquette or if I'm disturbing the normal flow here. I'm just an avid free software supporter and I believe strongly in the need for free-as-in-freedom multimedia codecs, and I want to help in any way that I can! Sincerely, Basil - -- Basil Mohamed Gohar abu_hurayrah at hidayahonline.org basilgohar.com/blog basilgohar on irc.freenode.net GPG Key Fingerprint: 5AF4B362 -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.9 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Fedora - enigmail.mozdev.org iEYEARECAAYFAkqYZhUACgkQaVgOCFr0s2Kn2QCgnOIsvNtNlGmUuANLwBCaH/kH a6oAn0+pu1c7axPTf6sAUS/bhxsSm0UY =W7kQ -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
