Probably a dumb question, but I don't see to see an answer on the syslinux wiki... Let's say I have a group of devices, all with company identifiable MAC addresses. I want all devices from that company to boot the same from pxelinux and I may not know, in advance the individual ID part of the mac address. Is it possible to have a config file that is ONLY the company part of the MAC address? Or should that maybe be done by dhcp?

Or should that maybe be done by dhcp? You can do it either in the DHCP configuration, or you can do it using rewrite rules in tftpd. -hpa

Or should that maybe be done by dhcp?Hi Bruce we do something like that with dhcp - unknown/new machines are given ipv4 addresses in a certain range, e.g. 192.168.234.0/24 - for that one, we have one config file called C0A8DA. -- Per Jessen, Z?rich (-1.4?C) http://www.hostsuisse.com/ - dedicated server rental in Switzerland.
