Syslinux - Jan 2017 - Problem entering BIOS - Chison Ultrasound system

Hallo sir/madam,

I have a Chinese brand Ultrasound unit Ivis 60 model which had issues with
booting after power fluctuations here in Congo -Africa.

It is using a syslinux 3.31 which is continually giving problem when trying
to enter BIOS so that I can install new files available on the usb disk. To
enter bios you have to continually press "delete button" when starting
the
unit but no matter how many time I press "delete button" it just fails
to
enter into the bios phase.

Kindy advise me on what to do to enter bios ( and if there's any upgrade to
be done on the syslinux 3.31). The syslinux was develop by h. peter anvin.
We need this unit to work so as to serve the patients in this part of
africa.

Just to add to my former email I wrote earlier, I have used USB to reboot
this ultrasound unit before and install new files when it crashed before.

The problem we are having now is entering BIOS so as to effect this change,
it is not allowing us, but we can still USB to transfer files so is not a
question of CD/DVD or floppy disk which were used before the year 2000.

Entering the BIOS isn't really a Syslinux situation but more of the
OEM/BIOS vendor.  However, I may have some suggestions.

Watch the keyboard itself for initialization.  With machines with PS/2
and USB support, I've noticed PS/2 keyboards initialize sooner and
sometimes USB keyboards aren't usable for pre-OS operations.  With
USB, I've noticed some machines either don't initialize USB keyboards
behind a hub fast enough, to enter the BIOS/firmware configuration, if
at all, for pre-OS operations.

Good luck.  In general, I count on needing to replace random parts and
maintain a spare parts supply for PC equipment over 4 years old.
