Problem entering BIOS - Chison Ultrasound system
Hallo sir/madam, Just to add to my former email I wrote earlier, I have used USB to reboot this ultrasound unit before and install new files when it crashed before. The problem we are having now is entering BIOS so as to effect this change, it is not allowing us, but we can still USB to transfer files so is not a question of CD/DVD or floppy disk which were used before the year 2000. Thanks, Henry.

Password problem
Hi folks, My client and I are having a problem getting a portable Esaote ultrasound machine to connect to a Samba server. The unit has an integrated laptop with a Windows XP version that can hardly be modified. Upon delivery the vendor only changed the user name and workgroup for us. When I asked for the user password to make a matching Samba account, the vendor refused be...

lme4:glmer with nested data
...; all of which performed both tasks task - 2 tasks that each individual bat had to perform dist - 5 repeated measures of individual bats at 5 different distances from the object all x variables I treat as categorical factors with levels Y - I have 8 dependent variables related to the structure of ultrasound calls emitted by bats when performing each task. I know I can use them together in the same model with the function ?cbind()? but each variable behaves a bit differently. Thus, I guess it would be better to build 8 separate models. I believe "indiv" should be a random effect in the mode...

TmMidity
In trying to get NoteWorthy Composer working on my box (Mandrake 10.0, Gnome 2.4) I found a webboard for NWC under Linux (on wine). Following advice, I downloaded and compiled TiMidity. Unfortunately, when I try to follow the instructions given on the board, I get the following result [andrew@localhost rosegarden-4-1.0]$ su Password: [root@localhost rosegarden-4-1.0]# modprobe

I''m using the simple "Rail" dataset of N=18 observations, consisting of 3 measurements of ultrasound wave travel time for each of N_groups=6 rails, as used in the examples on p. 5-11 of Pinheiro & Bates. I am using the method="ML" option in lme to use the Maximum Likelihood method. In this simple limit, the expressions for the maximum likelihood formulas (such as Eq. 2.6 of P&B...
