SYSLINUX 4.00 2010-06-28 EDD Load error - Boot error

Booting from USB on old IBM T43 or newer Esprimo E5731E.

No problems with version 3.86 and same usb-stick.

I guess I should also ask this (for both of you)... do the affected
machines have serial ports, and do you have the facilities to log data
off a serial port?

Okay, I think I have figured out what causes *this* error.  I will have
a patch for it shortly.

I have checked in a patch into git which should fix this particular
machine, it would be much appreciated.  I predict that it should just
work, then; no need to further run the serial port debugging dump.

New messages, other problems:

Good news first: the Thinkpad T23 still boots as wanted.
After a lot of lines beginning with "isolinux" it shows my marvellous
boot menu.

Thinkpad T22:

Many "isolinux: ... " lines, ending:

isolinux: Found something at drive = A0
isolinux: Found something at drive = 9F
Isolinux: Looks reasonable, continuing...
 Copyright ...
EDD: Error reading sector 16
ERROR: No configuration file found

Compaq 686T3:

Could you provide the bios release you are using and the
product/vendor/firmware version of your cdrom drive ?

Just for the record: seems to be fixed:

On my machines (Thinkpad T22, T23, T40, Compaq 686T3) all works well.
(ok: booting from CD, not from USB)
