[syslinux] Help bypass broken bios - el torito ???
Hi, My problem is not uncommun, I have an old machine I'd like to use as a linux internet FW. The Bios is old and does not let me boot from an el torito bootable CD( 1998 PC) The CD's OK on other machines, boots fine Is there any way to get . isolinux on floppy, . when PC read floppy, isolinux tell it to boot from the /dev/hdc device, all bootfiles are in /isolinux on the CD (SENTRY-FIREWALL CD) I have looked around the net but didn't find relevant HOWTOs Thanks

It would of course be a big change in the way how your Sentry-Firewall CD is booted, but it might be possible to do so... bye Christian
Hi, I create a boot cd-rom with isolinux.bin following the instruction: isolinux.cfg like as: label rescue-linux kernel vmlinuz the kernel vmlinuz is into /boot/, while isolinux.bin and isolinux.cfg are into /boot/isolinux/ I typed the command mkisofs -o rescue.iso -b boot/isolinux/isolinux.bin -c boot/isolinux/boot.cat ..ETC.. /mnt/disk/iso where isotree is into /mnt/disk/iso and I get a iso image correctly. After I write a CD-ROM with Nero. Thanks, Alessandro
