The sample build in the TI directory is set up for narrowband 8kbps, complexity
1. This runs in about 25 MIPs for Speex 1.2-beta1 for encoder and decoder. The
MIPs will be a lot higher for 24.6 kbps mode, but most of the processing is in
the encoder. I am planning to run some tests with the latest Speex code in the
next few days, and I will try to set up a 24.6kbps test at that time, and post
the result. Or, you can try the build yourself on the TI simulator, and play
with the settings as you wish.
Note that the sample build has no assembly optimizations, but Jean-Marc's
fixed point macros do a good job of leading the compiler to produce efficient
code. If you are concerned about resources on the C55x, memory might be a
bigger concern than MIPs, if you are running only the decoder.
