z to r transformation within print.rma.uni and forest from the package metafor
Dear R community,
I'm using the ,metafor'-package by Wolfgang Viechtbauer (Version: 0.5-5) to
calculate random-effects meta-analyses using Correlations and Sample Sizes
as the raw data.
(By the way: Really a nice piece of work, Wolfgang! Thanks heaps.)
I specified the "rma.uni' function so that it looks like this:

forest plot
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am trying to plot forest plot. I extracted odds ratio and their corresponding 95% confidence interval from papers, then I calculated the log(OR) and standard error using the following command
OR<-metagen(logOR,selogOR,sm="OR")
forest(OR,comb.fixed=TRUE,comb.random=TRUE,digits=2)
However, it does not produce a forest plot. Can someone kindly help? Thank

Newbie problem ... Forest plot
Hello!
I have some data stored into 2 separate csv file. 1 file (called A.csv) (12 results named Group1, Group2, Group3, etc...) odds ratios, 2 file (called B.csv) 12 corresponded errors.
How to import that data into R and make forest plot like I saw inside help file Rmeta and meta with included different font colors and names trough X and Y axis.

Making descriptive analyisis in R

Fisher r-to-z transformation
Hi everyone,
I want to use the Fisher r-to-z transformation as part of a hypothesis
test of r. I can't find an R function that can do that. Am I missing

ANOVA with means and SDs as input
Dear R-community,
I'm struggling with a paper that reports only fragmented results of a
2by2by3 experimental design. However, Means and SDs for all cells are given.
Does anyone know a package/function that helps computing an ANOVA with only
Means and SDs as input (resulting in some sort of effect size and
significance test)?

I want to fit some psychophysical data with cumulative gaussians. There is
quite a convenient toolbox for matlab called 'psignifit' (formerly known as
'psychofit'). It allows the lower bound of the sigmoid to vary slightly from
zero, aswell as the upper bound to vary from one. with these two free
parameters, the fitted function is less sensitive to noisy data and
outliers.

presents two tones of slightly different pitch to an observer (animal will

What package would you recommend for analyzing the
validity/reliability of multiple choice tests. Doing things such as
classical test analysis, factor analysis, item response theory.
I've used psychometric (item.exam), MiscPsycho (alpha.Summary), and ltm
(rcor.test). MiscPsycho reported the numbers most similar to what I get

Bonferroni correction for multiple correlation tests

Dovecot 2.0b4 configuration issue, listen config option?
Hi,
In my 1.2 setup I have pop3 running on ip x.x.x.2 and imap on x.x.x.7
In 2.0 how do I say listen x.x.x.2:110 x.x.x.7:143 so that pop3 is not
listening on the .7 ip? I tried putting a listen = ip in the listener
section but it complained. I cant figure it out and cant seem to find
any 2.0 specific documentation, trying to search in the wiki directory
of /usr/local/share/doc/dovecot/wiki but

Appropriate regression model for categorical variables
Dear users,
In my psychometric test i have applied logistic regression on my data. My
data consists of 50 predictors (22 continuous and 28 categorical) plus a
binary response.
Using glm(), stepAIC() i didn't get satisfactory result as misclassification
rate is too high. I think categorical variables are responsible for this
debacle. Some of them have more than 6 level (one has 10 level).

Question about which kind of plot to use
Hi Everyone,
I've got a question about data representation. I have some psychometric
data with 5 scores for 15 different groups. I've been asked to show
some kind of mean plots. The data below is the mean and SD for a given
group, unfortunately my employer doesn't want me posting full datasets.
:(
The groups V,W,X,Y,Z are divided into Bottom, (B), Middle (M) and Top
(T). An
