stack data sets
Hi All,
I'm generating 10 different data sets with 1 and 0 in a matrix form and writing the output in separate files. Now I need to stack all these data sets in one vector and I know that stack only operates on list or data frame however I got these data sets by converting list to a matrix so can't go backwards now. Is there a way i can still use Stack?
Please see the program:

Hmisc-xtable label
Dear all:
Does anybody know about label conflicts between xtable and Hmisc? I found a couple of e-mails similar to this problem but is not clear to me how to get around the label problem.
The first table(longtable below) is generated with the latex function from Hmisc but for some reason when I try to hyperlink to it,it takes me to the top of the document. The second table created with the xtable

xtable feature addition suggestion
Hi, attached follows a patch to add a feature that I think it would be useful having in the print.xtable function of the xtable package. It adds the option 'tabular.environment' to that function, which could be used to set an alternative tabular environment, as the name already suggests.
This is particulary useful when dealing with long tables, which do not fit in a single page. In the

Reading PDF files
Hi:
I need to do text mining on PDF files. I understand there is a readPDF
command in tm that can be used. Have read the 2008 posts on converting
PDF files to text by Tony Breyal and others.
Wondering if the procedure has been standardized in any tutorial or
otherwise? Being new to R, I was able to follow only part of the
discussion.
Any way to get a set of step by step instructions

Simulate data for spline/piecewise regression model
Dear All,
I am trying to simulate data for a spline/piecewise regression model. I am missing something fundamental in my simulation procedure because when I try to fit my simulated data using the Gauss-Newton method in SAS, I am getting some wacky parameter estimates. Can anyone please check my simulation code and tell me what mistake I am making in generating data for spline model?
Thank you

help
Hi:
I am going through some of the xtable examples and I can't make the one below work. I need to create a longtable on the fly keeping the column headers for all the pages and I thought this example could give some ideas on how to do it. I am using Sweave and xtable to create my tables and graphics. I wonder if someone could tell me what's wrong. Thanks

Converting Matrix into List - problem (urgent)
Hi,
I'm trying to convert Matrix into a list format and have written the following code:

conFirst = matrix(rep(NA,36),nrow=6,ncol=6)

modifying xtable output
I have been using the xtable package to export great latex tables and am
very pleased with the package.
Is there a way to modify the format of the tables:
(1) some of my tables are to long to fit on a single page. I would like to
modify the
xtable to produce a longtable compatible with the longtable.sty in latex.
Are these modifications
possible and if so where are they documented?

An alternative solution that allows you to break it down by categories is in
the functions below. Comments/suggestions welcome and encouraged.
Note that much thanks is due to those who responded to an earlier post of

How to use `[` without evaluating the arguments.
Hello R-devel,
I am currently attempting to implement an API similar to data.table wherein single bracket subsetting can accept an unquoted expression to be evaluated in the context of my object.
A simple example from the data.table package looks like this:
DT <- data.table(col1 = c('a', 'b', 'c'), col2 = c('x', 'y', 'z'))
