Coefficient of association for 2x2 contingency tables
Hi,
Found no measure of association or correlation for 2x2 contingency tables in
fullrefman.pdf or google. Can someone point to a package that implements such
calculations?
Thanx.

R version update utility
Hi,
O wrote a small bash script that performs unattended upgrades of R.
It has fit my purposes but I'd like to submit it to the community so it can
be enhanced and widely useful.
There is some redundancy in code and this will be addressed soon.
Almost every action is logged but the main action of each step is logged
only in case of error. Each run will produce a different log file. It can

R and computer heat
Hi,
I noticed the temperature of my laptop rises sharply during execution of a
long R script that generates several hundred plots, all of them saved to
files. No screen output. Temps reached above 90 Celsius degrees in the box
and above 80 C deg in the processor. The machine turns on cooler at maximum
speed and exhaled air is really hot. Tried similar operations (batch

I'd like to know whether there is a package (or more, of course) regarded

Thanks.

r version 2.1.0 and graphics in mac os 10.3.9
I use mac os 10.3.9 and I've installed in my computer R 2.1.0 (I
believe this is the latest R version).
Although it works alright when I open R by clicking in the R icon, I
cannot use the graphics facility when I open R from a X-terminal window
(or x-11 window).
In fact, when I try to open R I get the message that I pasted below.
Is this a R bug?
Is R assuming that I should have the

output from STL
Hi All,
How do I can create a new vector, i.e. 'seasonal' or 'trend' from the
resultant seasonal or trend component of the Time.Series object produced by
STL, and how I could superpose in the same graphic, i.e. original data and
trend or seasonality?
Thanks in advance!

Calculation of lags
Hi,
If I have the follow situation:
A dependent variable (i.e. number of insects) that is affected by an
independent variable (i.e. rain). The problem is that the measure of rain
affect the population in other moment. So there exit a lag between the rain
and the number of insects. Exist in R any tool to find what is this lag?
Explain better.
Suppose that I have a linear relationship

NA's values and ts
Hi,
I have a data frame with 13 time series (same length). Two of them have
several NA's values, so when I've tried to run:
>acf(flow, na.action=na.omit)
I get
>Error in na.omit.ts(as.ts(x)) : time series contains internal NAs
I've read through help files of acf, na.action, na.omit, and I don't
understand how to manage NA's values.
If I list the variable (eg: rain,

yet another update error
Hi,
After upgrading R I always update installed packages to the new version.
This time an error I have never seen or heard of appeared: thousands,
perhaps millions of lines like the ones below.
