BBH2 and FrF2 packages
Hi R HELP,
I consider the 2^3 factorial experiment described at page 177 of
the book Statistics for Experimenters: Design, Innovation, and Discovery
by George E. P. Box, J. Stuart Hunter, William G. Hunter (BHH2).
This example use the following data in file BHH2-Data/tab0502.dat
at ftp://ftp.wiley.com/
in /sci_tech_med/statistics_experimenters/BHH2-Data.zip

Draft Proposal
Hi,
I have submitted a draft proposal on the GSoC website but I also
wanted to share my draft proposal through Dropbox to get your feedback
quickly through it. Please review it and let me know your feedbacks as soon
as possible. I haven't written much about automated testing as I haven't
written any test yet ( I will learn writing automated tests before April
end ). Link to my

Dear list,
I searched the libraries but could not find means to compute the
svd of a coupled field. Is it possible in R
Thanks

inserting into data frame gives "invalid factor level, NAs generated"
I am calculating some values that I am inserting into a data frame. From
what I have read, creating the dataframe ahead of time is more efficient,
since rbind (so far the only solution I have found to appending to a data
frame) is not very fast.
What I am doing is the following:
# create data frame
goframe = data.frame(goA = character(10), goB = character(10), value =
numeric(10))
goframe[1,] =

prewhiten
HI all.,
I have some univariate time series that need to be prewhitened. HOw this can
be performed in R.
I am thinking of to fit an ARIMA model and substract this from the original
series. Is this the correct way
THanks in advance

removing spatial auto correlation
Hi list,
I am trying to fit arima model for a grid of 360x161x338 points,
where 360x161 is the spatial dimension and 338 is the number of time steps I
have, which is seasonal. For this purpose I used the auto.arima function in
forecast package. After fitting residuals at each grid in space, the auto
correlations are still significant ( but < 0.2). This make me think that the

Extracting columns from a class
Hi list,
I am not a frequent user of R. Recently I used R in principal
component analysis and got the result as a class, which has information like
standard deviation and principal components from 1 to 10. How is it
possible to extract the column corresponding to first principal component
and write it to a file
the out from prcomp command is something like this

timeseries
Dear useRs,
I am trying to construct a time series using as.ts function, surprisingly
when I plot
the data the x axis do not show the time in years, however if I use
ts(data), time in years are shown in the
x axis. Why such difference in the results of both the commands
Thanks

missing values in autocorelation
Hi all,
I am trying to find the autocorrelation of some time series. I
have say 100 files, some files have only missing values(-99.99, say). I dont
want to exclude these files as they represent some points in a grid. But
when the acf command is issued i get an error.
Error in plot.window(...) : need finite 'ylim' values
In addition: Warning messages:

Nullsoft Vorbis Decoder v.1.11a Bug Report
Hi, there.
While waiting for the encoder RC1, I will report some minor problems
I experienced with Peter's Winamp decoder.
First, I am using Nullsoft Vorbis Decoder v.1.11a with Winamp v.2.76
on Windows 98 SE.

api_netlog_rpc: NET_SAMLOGON failed
Hi,
I've got a RH72 box called FILESERV acting as a PDC for a while now.
It's been doing fine with Win2k clients. The version of the PDC Samba is
2.2.3a-1.
I've now added a RH72/samba-2.2.1a-4 machine called GOA to the domain.
I've set it to use FILESERV as the password server. On GOA I created a
local linux user that's name matches the one in the Windows domain
(peter). It

Invisible Wine
I've installed and updated Fedora Core 5. I also installed wine.
As I'm trying to run Worlds of Warcraft, I need to add some .dll files
in a subdirectory within the .wine directory. However, I cannot find
the .wine directory!! I've looked under ~/.wine (where ~ is the user
directory) to no avail. I think wine was installed because I don't get

WinPcap Installer is invisible!
I'm trying to install WinPcap for a program, but when I try to run the installer, the window is invisible. I know it's there cause a shadow momentarily pops up and it shows up on the taskbar, but there is nothing there.
I also tried to install Cain and Abel, but an error popped up saying something about not being able to access a temp file... I eventually just installed it on my Windows
