graph resolution windows (dpi) using x11 device
Dear list members, After looking in the www, I found this subject has been in discussion previously on the mailing list, although I could not solve it. I also found two wikis, but similarly, could not reach a conclusion. I need to re-produce my figures with 1200 dpi, in tiff format, for a journal (off course :-s). I am working on windows xp professional, R version 2.7.1, using x11 to open

High resolution figures for a paper?
Dear Rusers, My manuscript has been conditionally accepted recently. The problem to generate the high resolution figures in R for the manuscript cannot be solved by me. The journal editor ask me to generate the figures with a minimum resolution of 500 dpi. I have tried the *menu-driven method* to save the figures as JPEG (100% printed quality), but the results seem not to be very good. I have

SIP/IAX softphones for use in call centre environments
I've been working my way through the softphones listed on voip-info over the last few weeks and I've not really found anything to fit the bill. Has anyone had more luck? The environment is a small call centre of 5 users. Operators often need to be able to transfer calls to other operators with different specialties, so the softphone needs to be easy to use and quick to transfer calls.

Change the default resolution for plotting figures?
Hi, I want to save a plot in the windows device as png and the default resolution is 72dpi. Is it possible to increase the default resolution to for example 300 dpi? I have thought of using function png(..., res=300), but the problem is that the figure produced this way looks different than the one shown in the windows device. One notable difference is the missing of some ticks in the x

PNG resolution
Hi, I expect that if I change only the resolution of an image, although the image would have more pixels, if viewed in the same physical size, the elements in the image would have the same physical size but with more detail. However, when I use the "res" parameter of png() this is not what I see. Would someone show me how I can just "increase the resolution" without

DPI setting or "large fonts"?
Hi all Does anybody know how to enable "large fonts" in Wine? Either that or some other way to change the font size of win programs, because the default fonts are really tiny. Toby -- Signed/encrypted mail welcome. GPG/PGP Key-Id: 0x15C5C2EA

DPI slider
Hello there, I installed Championship Manager 01/02 using the brilliant Wine on my Ubuntu 10.04.1 system. It installed fine, but when I was in the game the mouse wasn't visible at all. I thought it may have been a graphics issue so started fiddling with the graphics settings in the wine configuration menu. As part of this experimentation I moved the dpi slider right up to maximum and applied

Q about dpi, fonts, gnome, Xorg etc
This has been puzzling me for some time and despite bothering Auntie Google rather a lot, I've yet to find a satisfying answer. As an old-time (since 1981) unix and X guy, I've generally been fairly well-able to get fonts to behave in a rational manner. My needs are pretty simple - I just want 8-point (or 9-point etc) fonts to appear on the screen as 8-point font - ie more or less 8 *
