DirectShow filter for Speex
Hi,
I've had many requests in the past for a Speex DirectShow filter. Well,
the wait is now over, thanks to Jean-Francois Emond. Both source and
binaries are available from the "Other software" page
(http://www.speex.org/projects.html). Bear in mind that for now, only a
subset of Speex features are supported (8 kHz, 15 kbps).
For those who would like to know what's coming next,

installation : make fails (R-1.7.1 on RedHat 8.0)
Hi,
I'm trying to compile R-1.7.1 from source (on a RedHat 8.0) instead of
using the binary version, as it has often been advised.
However I don't manage to find a solution to the following error which
occurs during the make procedure :

Diferencias entree la ejecucion por consola y por linea de comandos
Buenas tardes,
Estoy teniendo problemas al ejecutar un script de R por linea de
comandos. Se trata de un problema de programación lineal con las
librerias lpSolve y lpSolveAPI en el que leo los datos desde un CSV.
El problema con dos decimales funciona sin problemas pero si
aumentamos a 4 decimales en algunos datos de entrada nos da solución
si ejecutamos desde la consola pero no da solución

Some questions about package "pastecs" and "stats"
My goal is to remove signals trend without any a-priori knowledge of the trend type, if any. Some signals are very noisy and non-stationary (example attached).
I have experimented with a number of techniques. Staring at the results, I can hardly tell which method is best.
I am attaching the result of function "local.trend" as I cannot understand it. Nor I can make a sense of the returned

Un peu d'aide
Bonjour,

Bit of a newbie to imap servers re: the article on webmonkey!

Been trying to set up SSL support with the latest ver. of dovecote I'm guessing
that the following line from STDOUT is the problem. How to fix it is beyond my
grasp currently.

Multiple imputations : wicked dataset ? Wicked computers ? Am I cursed ? (or stupid ?)
Dear list,
I'd like to use multiple imputations to try and save a somewhat badly
mangled dataset (lousy data collection, worse than lousy monitoring, you
know that drill... especially when I am consulted for the first time
about one year *after* data collection).
My dataset has 231 observations of 53 variables, of which only a very
few has no missing data. Most variables have 5-10% of

Why is bubbles() creating empty png graphs?
This code below produces empty XXX.png files - if I use plot(), it works
and if I enter the commands
png(filename=fn)
bubble(positions, do.sqrt=FALSE, main=q)
dev.off()
manually, it works as well.
I am lost - any help appreciated.
The weird thing is that it worked before I made some changes... (I don't
have a copy of the working version...).

(m)simtest ?
Hi,.
We have 2 values (first formant F1, second formant F2) for a given
phoneme for six languages. We want to see whether the languages are
significantly different one from another for this given phoneme.
We have done a manova on our data and it works well, but we doesn't
allow us to see which pair of languages are different.
If we have only one formant for the phoneme, we would use

NEW RAILS SITE: Riding two bubbles at the same time
Today we finally opened the doors to "Street Easy" (http://
www.streeteasy.com/), a Real Estate Research Site for New York City.
It was built by two guys in three months. It doesn''t have tags, but
it has google maps. It rides two bubbles at the same time. It''s like
road kill: the price tags will shock you, but you won''t be able to
stop browsing around.
