[Galen Hancock <galen@veribox.net>] Information leakage in sshd
Hi, Thought I'd just forward this here, because I don't have time to look into it right now, and am off skiing next week. I'd guess that we should be checking for username = ``root'' before going off to do password checks, and rejecting it on that basis first. Cheers, Phil. -- Mind-numbingly stupid UK law alert! CALLERIDNUM not passed over?
When a user dials 999 he is always asked for the mailbox and has to enter his mailbox number and password. As I understand this shouldn't happen because the CALLERIDNUM is passed over to VoicemailMain. It's annoying to have to enter the number everytime ... The voice mail configuration is read from MySQL. We are using the CVS version from a few days ago. Extract from extensions.conf:

Users in MySQL
I've just compilied th latest CVS of * with USE_MYSQL_FRIENDS enabled ("1"). During startup * tells me that it connects to the db, so this should be fine. Nevertheless I don't see any users from the db when I run "sip show users" or "iax2 show users" although I configured some. It is also not possible to call them. Any hints?

Events in view question
I have taken an example wherein, using Ajax, the values of a second combobox are populated by a change in the primary combobox. The code is shown below. I realise it will seem as though I am asking someone to write the code for me, BUT, can someone please show me, by way of an example how to amend my index.rhtml below to use, say a radio button group instead of a combobox, wherein when you change

Viable using purchasing sip lines
Hello All, We have been doing Asterisk and CME implementations recently but we almost always exlusively bring in analog lines and or PRI for PSTN access to our systems. I have known about providers providing SIP based lines and SIP trunks to end users for PSTN access. I am curious about the following: - How practical is this? The idea of terminating pstn calls to across the Internet

I think this is a moment to lean back from daily business, details or whatsoever and appreciate the impressive achievment of Ross, Robert and the R-core team. Incredible! They created an impressive and extremely useful software, for teaching, research and more. Besides these direct practical benefits, I think this project is more: it gives an outstanding example of international cooperation and

relationship counselling for debian and rsync
I heard Debian's trying to freeze soon. I have a few points about rsync's Debian package. I'll see what I can do to close some Debian/rsync bugs. Fortunately some of the bad ones seem to be already addressed in our regular tarballs. It would be pretty cool if I could be automatically cc'd on Debian bug reports about rsync, if the BTS supports that. The debian/copyright file
