R CMD SHLIB changes function name when compiling
Hi,
I'm trying to write a function in C for implementation with .Call. When
compiling using R CMD SHLIB characters seem to be added to the function
name.
Here's the complete C code from the file summariseMCMC.c:
#include<R.h>
#include<Rdefines.h>
#include<Rinternals.h>
void summariseMCMC(SEXP data) {
PROTECT(data=AS_NUMERIC(data));
UNPROTECT(1);
}

RcppArmadillo compilation error: R CMD SHLIB returns status 1
Dear all,
running the example by D. Eddebuettel (http://dirk.eddelbuettel.com/blog/2011/04/23/) I get an error message. Specifically, the R code I was taking from the above example is

Rf_defineVar(symbol, R_UnboundValue, environment) questions
While poking around the C++ code in the dplyr package I ran across the idiom
Rf_defineVar(symbol, R_UnboundValue, environment)
to [sort of] remove 'symbol' from 'environment'
Using it makes the R-level functions objects(), exists(), and get()
somewhat inconsistent and I was wondering if that was intended. E.g., use
SHLIB to make something from the following C code that

La_svd compiler error
Dear All,
I have been trying to compile a package for windows that we have written. Since R version 3.0.0 the package doesn't compile any more. (On Linux the package compiles without errors).
The error specifically says:
gcc -m32 -I"C:/PROGRA~1/R/R-30~1.0/include" -DNDEBUG -I"d:/RCompile/CRANpkg/extralibs64/local/include" -O3 -Wall -std=gnu99 -mtune=core2 -c

Calling R from C
Dear R-helpers,
I'm trying to transfer a loop from R code to C to improve performance using
the .Call interface. However, I ran into problems before even getting
started, and I hope (fear) I'm missing something completely obvious here.
I use the following C function (passing an integer to the C function and
printing it):
#include <R.h>
#include <Rinternals.h>

dyn.load problem
Hi R-Users
I wrote 1 week ago asking about a message that appears when I try run
dyn.load.
I'm trying to do an example in C code from "Writing R Extension" to
learn how to do it.
I have R 2.0.0, Rtools, Perl and MinGW as describe in
http://www.murdoch-sutherland.com/Rtools/ with path sets.
When I use C:\R\rw2000\bin>RCMD SHLIB -o C:/dev-cpp/teste.dll

.Call and to reclaim the memory by allocVector
Hi,
I am not sure if this is a bug and I apologize if it is something I
didn't read carefully in the R extension manual. My initial search on the
R help and R devel list archive didn't find useful information.
I am using .Call (as written in the R extension manual) for the C code
and have found that the .Call didn't release the memory claimed by
allocVector. Even after applying

Problems compiling C code on windows
Hi all,
I can't get my C routines running on a windows box. I have no problems at
all in Linux.
On windows, I have installed cygwin and the compilation works well but once
I execute "dyn.load(.)" it hangs whatever I use C/C++ interfaces.
In Linux it works wonderful but I need to get this code running on windows
boxes.
I know that the problem should be something with the

Garbage collection of seemingly PROTECTed pairlist
I want to write an R function using R's C interface that takes a 2-column
matrix of increasing, non-overlapping integer intervals and returns a list
with those intervals plus some added intervals, such that there are no
gaps. For example, it should take the matrix rbind(c(5L, 6L), c(7L, 10L),
c(20L, 30L)) and return list(c(5L, 6L), c(7L, 10L), c(11L, 19L), c(20L,

I was wondering if I could use the matprod function from array.c in my own C routine. I tried the following as a test

# include <R_ext/Applic.h> /* array.c says need for dgemm */
/* following copied from array.c */

When installing packages containing code to compile, R eventually calls
R CMD SHLIB. Same thing happens with inline C++: it gets stored in a
temporary file,

Multiple -g flags in R CMD SHLIB
Does anybody know why two "-g" flags appear in the call to gcc in R CMD
SHLIB
Example:
gcc -std=gnu99 -I/usr/share/R/include -DNDEBUG -fpic *-g* -O2
-fstack-protector --param=ssp-buffer-size=4 -Wformat
-Werror=format-security -D_FORTIFY_SOURCE=2 *-g* -c c_file1.c -o
c_object1.o
Surely it need only be listed once?

Problem with Rboolean in c++ code
I am trying to use R_RegisterCFinalizerEx to ensure some c++ object is
properly deleted after use. However, I run into some problems when
trying to pass in the third argument which is an Rboolean. The line
'R_RegisterCFinalizerEx(p, finalizer, TRUE);' generates the following
error when trying to compile using R CMD SHLIB:
