error when compiling "stats" library in R-2.3.1 on Solaris x86
Hello, I tried to compile v2.3.1 on Solaris x86 with SUN Pro compilers. I had an error while stats libarary was being compiled and I notice that "-xtarget=generic64" was not passed to f95 while cc used it. Could you tell me how to fix this problem? f95 -PIC -O -I/mounts/devel/SUNWspro/prod/include -c sgram.f -o sgram.o f95 -PIC -O -I/mounts/devel/SUNWspro/prod/include -c

Building R for AIX in 32-bit mode - as preparation for building in 64-bit mode (changed subject!) - INFO/FEEDBACK - do not read as a bug report!
I have determined why there are many "WARNING: Duplicate symbol:" messages. *** My apologies for the length *** There is a lot of detail - but I hope the detail will help R - and others - setup correct options for shared libraries. *** As I press send, I have not stopped testing (my final trial here might not even work) - but! *** the message is that shared libraries do not need to have

Hi, I'm trying to compile R-1.7.1 from source (on a RedHat 8.0) instead of using the binary version, as it has often been advised. However I don't manage to find a solution to the following error which occurs during the make procedure : /!\-------------------------------------------/!\ building package 'ctest' mkdir -p -- ../../../library/ctest/R mkdir -p --

Cryptic error message from namespaceExport
Just to clarify, your package is exporting a class that is not defined? Or is it exporting a class that is defined by a dependency and then masked by setOldClass()? A simple reproducible example would help. R-devel problems
The OS X configure in R-devel has been changed to use two-level namespaces. There are still some problems. 1. Trunmed.c in the modreg packages defines a function heapsort(), while heapsort is also defined (differently) in /usr/lib/stdlib.h. I (temporarily) disabled the definition in stdlib.h. 2. If R is configured with the --without-x flag, then CPPFLAGS does not include /usr/X11R6/include,

Build from Source fails on Loading required package Matrix
Hello: I am building R 2.15.1 from source on a Windows 7 machine with the x64 toolset, MixTeX, and InnoSetup per http://cran.r-project.org/bin/windows/Rtools/. I obtained the source for 2.15.1 via svn from https://svn.r-project.org/R/branches/R-2-15-branch/. This is my first try building R from source. The build seems to go far, then terminates with "undefined exports: .M.classEnv" from
