R-3.1.0 OSX Snow Leopard installs old binary
Hi All, I am not sure why this happens, but apparently an old binary is installed by default. Downloading and installing the new binary by hand works fine. Is this the intended behavior? If yes, may I ask what is the reason for it? Thanks, Gabor > install.packages("igraph") There is a binary version available (and will be installed) but the source version is later:

Winetricks list comes up blank OSX Snow Leopard
Hello everyone, I have been having some problems with wine, mainly that I can't get any winetricks to show up. I downloaded both wine and winetricks from Mac Ports, I have even installed some third party programs (Like Trix) and no luck. In wine and wine bottler the list is always empty! I have tried to install winetricks manually through the terminal as well. I really have no idea why this

how to run my R code in Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard
Hi, I have a question in running R 2.4.1 in the Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard. I write all my R code without using any packages in R. When I run it in Windows system, it runs smoothly and correctly. Then I try to run the same code in Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard. I just copy the script file on the desktop of the Mac OS X. I find I can open the file directly as a text file. To run R in Mac OS X, I type

Newbie worries with "Developing Rails Applications on Max OSX Leopard"
Hello There, As a new comer to RoR, I started to follow the article http://developer.apple.com/tools/developonrailsleopard.html. In short you create to entities and one one-to-many relation linking them. Everything was good until the establishment of the relation. I am unable to go any further than "Linking Models Together" : I can create the "vendors" mentionned in the

mongrel_cluster on OS X 10.5 Leopard
So, Leopard server has been great, most everything I need is here. Thanks to a nice example here: http://www.cyberarmy.net/library/article/1722/ I was even able to sort out using Mongrel with Apache 2. All works out of the box, except mongrel_cluster. The gem just won''t install. I could really use some guidance here. I did try the darwinports mongrel_cluster install from here:

Installing windows drivers into print$ on OS X 10.5 Leopard
Has anyone had any success installing windows printer drivers onto a leopard-hosted print$ share? If I use the Add Printer Wizard method, if copies the driver files to \ \SERVER\print$\W32X86 then fails with an "Operation cannot be completed." If I use the rpcclient method I get a WERR_INVALID_PARAM error. Using the Adobe Generic PostScript driver as an example.

Observations on compiling on Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
I started with: - Mac OS X 10.5.8 - Xcode installed - OCaml from GODI - qemu from git autoconf is really ancient (2.61). It doesn't have AM_SILENT_RULES and although we tried to make things work when autoconf lacks this by having: m4_ifndef([AM_SILENT_RULES], [m4_define([AM_SILENT_RULES],[])]) AM_SILENT_RULES([yes]) # make --enable-silent-rules the default. this nevertheless

Speed bumps on the way to successfully running puppetmasterd on Mac OSX Leopard, try one and two
Hey all, I have recorded my steps towards getting puppet functional through one of the four different methods that I can think of, which are: 1.Source(copying and insatlling to the recommended unix FSH directory, /usr/local/src) 2.pkg hosted at explanatorygap 3.MacPorts 4.RubyGems I haven''t cleanly tested the last two, but here''s where I am with the first two: 1. Trouble installing pwr package
Hi all, I'm having trouble getting access to the pwr. This is on Ubuntu Lucid Lynx, 64 bit. I'm installing pwr via packages.install('pwr'), and loading it via library(pwr), both of which appear successful. Strangely, I never get access to the pwr object in R. I tried installing it to /usr/local/lib/R/site-library and ~/R/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-library. I also tried installing it
