axis labels & title not visible
Dear all, I recently upgraded to R-2.4.0 and have had some difficulties with axis labels. When I create a plot on the X11 display, the labels (including the title) are not visible. However, if I execute the exact same command on the pdf display, the labels are printed. I've tried explicitly setting axes=TRUE, but the result is the same. I have also tried downgrading to 2.3.1 and that

Examples, and what is the preferred version/release to use?
First of all, in the thread ''Using multiple values for source, for platform/arch/host configs'' Jason said: "I would really appreciate any examples, or further advise anyone has." -> I heartily second that. A good start would be to fill in the cookbook, as Luke has been quietly whispering here and there. ;) Then my other main question at the moment is: what version

multiline system call
Hello, I am trying to call sendmail from within R via system(). As sendmail reads from STDIN, I need to pass a multiline input as an argument. E.g. (not working): system('sendmail -f xxx at swing.be -t yyy at swing.be\ntest\n.\n') I tried a lot of ways to type the EOL characters, but cannot get them work the right way. This leads to several problems. For instance, R waits for me to

xyplot/levelplot: thickness of tickmarks
Hi, if I use the xyplot (or levelplot) function (lattice library) with the option axs="i", I have the problem that the tickmarks lie a bit outside the "plot-box". Consider for example: library(lattice) x<-seq(0,1,by=0.01) y<-seq(0,1,by=0.01) xyplot(y~x,type="l",xlim=c(0,1),ylim=c(0,1),scales=list
