na.rm problem
hi, i am a new member. i am using R in finding correlation between two variables of unequal length. when i use cor(x,y,na.rm=T,use="complete") where x has observations from 1928 to 2006 & y has observations from 1950 to 2006. I used na.rm=T to use the "complete observations". So missing values should be handled by casewise deletion. But it gives me error Error in

multiple lines on multiple plots
I'm sure this must be trivial, but I'm a novice with R and can't work out how to handle the axes when I am constructing multiple plots on a page and try to return to a previous one to put multiple data sets it. A simple example: --- x<- 1:10 y<- (1:100)*3 par(mfcol=c(2,1)) plot(x) plot(y) par(mfg=c(1,1)) lines(x) --- The first 5 lines make two plots with a row of dots along

Inner product
Hi, How do we find out the inner product & norm of eigen vectors in R? Lets say we have eigen vectors : x1 = 1,2,3 and x2 = 2,-3,4 are there any functions buit in R which directly calculate the inner product & norm of vectors? Thanks, Sonal. [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

plot 7 * 3 matrix on DIN A4 pdf
Hello, I want to plot 21 scatter plots in a 7*3 matrix on a single A4 page (using mfcol). Below is an example, which -by and large- looks very close to the desired result. But I do not get it to fill out the whole page. If I specify the a different page size, the plots still do not fill out the whole page. Anybody an idea what to do? Maybe adjusting indvidiual plot size (if so, how?). Or is there

problems with plots in loop (corrected Email)
Dear helpers, In an attempt to use a loop to generate graphs in a for loop in run into a problem. The plan is to fill each page with eight graphs (mfrow = c(4,2)) in to two columns. Only the buttom graphs ( meaning every fourth graph) have tick labels on the x axis to preserve space. I used an if .... Else statement to achieve that. The problem is that the first eight graphs are skipped

controlling figure dimension/location
I'm making two plots, one on top of the other. On the upper plot, I do not print the x-label or the x-tick-label. To reduce space, I'd like to keep the white space between the two figures at a minimum. However, I can't figure out how to methodically reduce the space while maintaining the same figure dimensions for both plots. I could add margin space below the lower plot and reduce

Hi there, When I run the code below I get the error Error in xy.coords(x, NULL, log = log) :(list) object cannot be coerced to type 'double' Any tips how I can resolve this? > > library("waveslim") > > vols=read.csv(file="C:/Users/ocuk/My Documents/Abs Vol.csv", header=TRUE, > sep=",") > x<-c(vols[,1]) > #x > #data(ibm) >

Re : I need some help please!
To whom it may concern, I want to plot two or more graphics in the same window by the means of the "plot" command. To do that, I have tried the "add=TRUE" option, but this last one does not work! Do you have an hint for me please? Thank you very much for your attention. Bernard Colin Departement of Mathematics Faculty of Sciences Sherbrooke University Sherbrooke (Quebec)

smbfs failure mounting DAVE Macintosh share
Hi, I tried to make my Linux box smbmount a remote share originating from a Macintosh running the commercial package DAVE 2.5. The Linux box is a RedHat 6.0 with a 2.2.14 kernel (with smbfs inserted as a module) and samba-2.0.3; the iMac ran MacOS9. The directory to be shared, \\akemi\archivio, contained two files, aaa and bbb. Here's what happened: [root@sonal ~]# smbmount

Help with the plot function
I'm trying to recreate a graph similar to the last one found on this link: https://sites.ualberta.ca/~lkgray/uploads/7/3/6/2/7362679/6c_-_line_plots_with_error_bars.pdf The difference is that I want budbreak on the top, and the temperatures at the bottom. I tried to set par before each graph and include lines, with no avail. Thanks, Bert. Andre On Mon, Jun 19, 2017 at 7:41 PM, Bert Gunter

superimposing graphs
Dear People, I have a data set of data x from a probability distribution, and I have a function, mydensity, of the pdf of that distribution. I'm asking for help in superimposing the histogram of x and the plot of mydensity. In the function below, I call truehist and curve, but these are plotted in different figures. I'd like them to be plotted on the same figure, and to use common

(CAR) Scatterplot and problems (?) with abline
Network Blitz I'm trying to generate a graph to summarize Interest Rate Parity. This involves a scatterplot of x against y where the x and y limits are set so to center the graph on 0,0 and then adding each axis line and a 45 degree line. Using CAR's scatterplot (sample code below) everything except the axes plot fine: scatterplot( Interest.Rate.Dif ~ ForPrm| profit,

Help with the plot function
See ?layout ?split.screen ?par (the mfrow and mfcol values) depending exactly on what you want to do and how you want to do it. Essentially, these all allow you to make separate plots at different regions of the device. R-2.6.0 for Windows, semi-transparent colours and layout()
Hi, The added support for semi-transparent colours in `windows' under R-2.6.0 for Windows is much appreciated. However, I've discovered that issuing a `layout' (or `par' with arguments `mfcol'/`mfrow') call and then trying to plot several figures with semi-transparent colour on the same page results in only the first one being fully drawn. E.g. > x <-

Unadulterated plot
To all, Apologies if this question has already been asked but I can't find anything. I can't seem to think of more specific search terms. I want to display/create a file of a pure plot with a specific height and width. I want to utilise every single pixel inside the axes. I do not want to display any margins, legends, axes, titles or spaces around the edges. Is this possible?

RE: Asterisk-Users digest, Vol 1 #3368 - 12 msgs
This message is in response to Flash operator problem. My op_server.pl seems to be same. I also created the variable.txt to the /var/www/html/panel folder and when I run htt://192.168.0.0/panel it just says at the bottom transferring data. I don't see anything on the screen. I also checked my manager.conf file. I was able to telnet into the manager interface and it's running fine. So I am

Help with the plot function
1. Did you study the functions (esp. ?layout) to which I referred you? 2.
