one legend for multiple plots
Does anyone know how to make one legend above the plots drawn using par(mfrow=c(1,2)), ie in the margin? All I've managed is to put a legend inside the plot region of one graph. Although I could write text in the margin I don't know how to draw lines in the margin if I were to construct the legend from scratch. Thanks for any help. Lucy Crooks Theoretical Biology

memory limit in aov

Error in glm(..., family=quasi(..., variance=list(...)))
In a glm() call using a quasi() family, one may define a custom variance function in the form of a "list containing components varfun, validmu, dev.resids, initialize and name" (quoting the help page for family). initialize expression in 'quasi' (PR#8486)
This is not so much a bug as an infelicity in the code that can easily be fixed. The initialize expression in the quasi family function is, (uniformly for all links and all variance functions): initialize <- expression({ n <- rep.int(1, nobs) mustart <- y + 0.1 * (y == 0) }) This is inappropriate (and often fails) for variance function "mu(1-mu)".

USB ports on Lenovo T400 do not work after a suspend/resume
Hi, FreeBSD-9 works fine on this Lenovo T400 - except that suspending with no USB devices plugged in result in no ports working after resume. If I have a device plugged in during suspend - on any port - then all the ports work fine after resume.
