file_column just will not work...
Hello,
I have been trying for some time to get a file to upload using the
file_column plugin.
My code is here: http://pastie.caboo.se/7304
But my code is not the issue. I cannot even pass the unit test that
come with the file_column plugin.
If I run ruby file_column_test.rb i get:
1) Error:
test_store_dir_callback(FileColumnTest):
TypeError: can''t convert Fixnum into String

Unable to install Gems with RubyGems on Intel OSX with DarwinPorts
I followed Duncan Davidson''s Sandboxing Rails with Darwin Ports guide and
everything went fine up till the part where I had to install gems using gem
install. I would get this stacktrace:

Anyone got a copy of File_Column trunk
Anyone able to post a copy of the svn trunk of file_column? The
website''s been down for the past few days, and I''ve only got the last
release (0.31, I think), which is missing a whole load of goodies.

Finding out the file attributes in FileColumn models
Is there a way to find out the attributes that have been passed to
file_column in models? I''ve looked through the source and it seems that the
file_column methods are generated at runtime but there''s actually no class
or instance variable that hold the file attribute.

Final Fantasy XIV Online Beta/Benchmark
Hi there
Square Enix' new MMORPG is nearing its release and there are alpha/beta clients available. The beta does not work at all in wine, just weird network connection errors when it trys to connect to their servers. The official benchmark starts but 3D is not rendered, just a black screen.
This is the console output:

In Search of Search!
I am implementing a search on my site and was wondering which will be
the best way to go about it.
We want a full text search and an advance search.
We will have huge amounts of data that we would want to search. - on
multiple tables.
I went through the plugins acts_as_ferret and acts_as_solr.
but ferret seems to have a locking problem at high load and solr needs
a java server.
So what do you

Handling DWARF "units"
Currently, LLVM's DWARF parser keeps Compile Units and Type Units
on separate lists, basically organizing them by ELF section. This
works okay for DWARF v4, because Type Units are in .debug_types
(possibly in individual COMDATs) and everything else is in the
.debug_info section (without COMDATs). The two lists conveniently
can be templated/typed with DWARFTypeUnit and DWARFCompileUnit.

ole32 and CoGetCurrentLogicalThreadId
Hi,
I'm trying to run an internal application from where I work on wine. The application uses a lot of COM components and multiple threads. But when running it, it seems to hang pretty quickly.
I added the output from wine below, from what I understand, it's stopping and waiting on a lock, using CoGetCurrentLogicalThreadId that is not implemented. I'm just starting to use wine, so I

inetd & etc
Hello.
I know that it is recommended to run smbd as a standalone daemon and to
avoid inetd. Can you please tell me why inetd is discouraged and what
problems it imposes?
Also, I have one user who is having problems accessing her personal files
on a MacOSX 10.3.2 via smb. Any ideas what may be causing it?

Today I encountered data corruption on two zfs pools due to a RAM failure in my OI box running on a dell T710. My rpool now looks like this (after reboot):

Centos package to export to eps format
Is there a package available in the CentOS repos that will convert either
a MicroSoft Word .doc, an OOo .otd, or an Acrobat .pdf file into eps
format? If so, what is its name? If not, What not CentOS packages are
available (if any) and recommended to accomplish this?

Dynamic visualisation of R data using Adobe FLEX
Hi useRs,
I had posted about Adobe FLEX talking to R for rich visualisation.
Reply from Jeffery Horner contained links to the
revolution-computing.com webpage which had information pertaining to
the Bay Users R group Meetup on Web Dashboards with R.
I have a very specific project that I need to implement.
I wish to use the graphics capabilities provided by Adobe FLEX to
visualise outputs from R.

Asterisk-Users List Etiquette
Friends, Romans, Countrymen, lend me your ears!
Or, in this case, your eyes.
It has become a problem I've noticed over and over again, that we tend
to think the mailing list is some sort of forum, used to post whatever
your hearts desire. This list, not unlike any other mailing list, has
a purpose. A focus if you will. Hopefully this 'document' will point
out some key things we

data recovery
Hi,
Need help on data recovery.
Suddenly my disk device's geometry has been changed to something that
doesnot make any sense. Its a 1.8TB in size and had only one single
partition. Now I can see 3 partitions sde1, sde2 and sde2 of sizes
130M, 140GB and 10GB.
Is there any way to recover data from these newly created disk devices?
Thanks
Paras.
