Sweave and graphic output locations
Hello,
I'm using R1.8.1 on windows 2000 and version 1.8.1 of the tools package.
I am attempting to have Sweave write files to a different directory via:
testfile <- system.file("Sweave", "Sweave-test-1.Rnw",
package = "tools")
## create a LaTeX file

including Sweave tangled code in '.Rnw' document
Hello List,
I have been using Sweave for my homework this last quarter and have been
very impressed at how much time and effort it saves me. I, however, have
run up against a problem which I have not been able to solve using any of
the Sweave/LaTeX tricks I know. I work through my homework one problem at a
time, typesetting equations and writing R code, etc. and occasionally use

Sweave and absolute escaped backslashed Windows paths in R 2.12.0
I've noticed a change in behavior in R 2.12.0 from 2.11.1 regarding the
treatment of absolute paths in the file argument of Sweave in a Windows
environment.
Consider the minimal Rnw file, attached and reproduced below my
signature in case .Rnw files get stripped. This file is stored on my
(Windows) computer in H:/My Documents. Using an absolute path with the

Sweave and backslashes
Hello Everyone,
I am an avid Sweave user and I am trying to pretty print floating point
numbers for latex output. For example in my document, I would like:

Instead of:
4.2e-08
The Hmisc package has a nice function for doing this- but Hmisc has a ton of
dependencies and has proved very unportable to the various machines I work
on. So, I set out to write my own function that

Sweave from Kile
Hello
Does anybody have experience with Sweave run from Kile? I'm trying to
make it run but have problems and don't know if the instructions are
false or I do something wrong (my knowledge in bash and shell is too low
to understand it)...
I discovered recently Sweave and wanted to run it from my latex editor,
Kile. I found and followed these instructions:

Sweave and uttf-8 under Windows XP
Hi list,
I need to process a Rnw file and and a csv file (both are encoded in
UTF-8) under Windows XP (R Version 2.11.0, i386, mingw32).
I can source and run the Rnw file:
> Stangle("Bericht.Rnw")
Writing to file Bericht.R
> source(file("Bericht.R", encoding="UTF-8"))
which runs fine, but running Sweave() failed:
> Sweave("Bericht.Rnw")

Setting up Xemacs + Sweave
Dear list,
I have tried to setup my Xemacs for use with Sweave, which I indend to learn.
I have followed the instructions in the Sweave FAQ, that is to say, I put
(defun Rnw-mode ()
(require 'ess-noweb)
(noweb-mode)
(if (fboundp 'R-mode)
(setq noweb-default-code-mode 'R-mode)))
(add-to-list 'auto-mode-alist '("\\.Rnw\\'" . Rnw-mode))

packages with Sweave and knitr vignettes?
Now that R 3.0.0+ supports non-Sweave vignettes, R-exts \S 1.4.2 seems
to imply that
it is possible to include both Sweave and knitr vignettes in a single
package.
I'm wondering
if anyone has tried this and/or if there are some hidden gotchas putting
this into practice,
and concerned about creating problems with CRAN checks if I try this.
Consider two vignettes:

Apparent conflict between \Sexpr in Sweave and R2HTML
I have come across an apparent bug in the operation of Sweave. If I
load the package R2HTML then execution of \Sexpr{} in an *.Rnw file no
longer works. The \Sexpr{} code is simply written to the *.tex file.
Below are my *.Rnw file, commands, and output.

Sweave problem with greek text
Dear Sweave and R aficionados,
I am using R and Latex for many years, writing texts in greek. I tried
to combine them with Sweave, but without any success.
Could you provide me with any help?
Usually my LaTeX files are like this iso-8859-7 encoded .tex file:

Sweave UFT8 problem
Hi,
I work on MacOS, trying to Sweave an UFT8 document.
AFAI remember R 2.14 used to render a warning when the encoding was not
declared when using Sweave.
With R 2.15 it seems to render an error.

Pkg creation: Sweave: multiple files vignette: Error in R CMD check
Hello R-developers!
I am creating a package (using devtools and RStudio) and I would like to split
my vignette into multiple Rnw-files.
As an example I tried the code from:

The Rnw-files work fine with "Complie pdf" in RStudio as well as with

Does Sweave run in the global environment ?
Hello
It seems that sweave always runs in the global environment. I want to
run sweave from within a function, and pass a variable into sweave,
however when I do this, sweave doesn't see the variable.
Here's my example test_sweave.Rnw file

R 3.1.0: 'R CMD Sweave' deletes non tex files created upon batch mode exit
Hi Martin,
I use R CMD Sweave often as well, so thanks for looking into this. I
have now tested some of my scripts with R-devel revision 65449
(2014-04-22) on 64-Bit Linux Mint 14.
I can confirm Marc's report that running R CMD Sweave no longer deletes
graphic files and retains created non-tex files (eps and/or pdf).
What does not behave as before is the output printed to stdout, which
