I have found that log transforming the environmental variables improves the explained deviance of the model considerably. strucchange: breakpoints in inequally spaced data
Hello,
we want to identify breakpoints (different phases) in environmental
data, algae cell counts of three years with intervals between 7 and 30
days (N=40). We found that

works great and identifies 5 very good breaks, however we are uncertain

Dear all
I was looking at the aov documentation page and came across the
following which seems like a contradiction to me:
" This provides a wrapper to |lm| for fitting linear models to balanced
or unbalanced experimental designs." (I presume 'This' refers to aov)

Hi,
Given that R reports Type I sums of squares, isn't it a bit anachronistic
that it re-orders terms in formulae?

Help get this simple function to work...
I have a function (see below). This function has one object, ID. If I run
the loops by themselves using a character value (ie,"VFFF1-7") instead of
the function object, then the loops work fine. However, when I try to
insert the character value via the function call, it doesn't work. I don't
get an error, but the TotalCover.df dataframe does not update according to
the loop

I'm having difficulty specifying contrasts for a within subjects
factor with 3 levels. I can do it correctly for my factors with 2-
levels, but i'm not getting the correct results for a 3-level factor.
My design has 1 between subjects factor (gp) and 3 within subjects

Quadratcount problem in spatstat
Hi,
I know there are older threads discussing the quadratcount function in
spatstat. Unfortunately, I could not find a solution to my problem there.
I'm analyzing a point pattern in an irregular polygonal window. Both the
window (an entire country) and the points are projected using WGS84.
When I do quadratcount with only one quadrat for the entire country it
holds all my 154 points:
