difficult R-problem
Hi there
In the course of my diploma thesis in climatology I have encountered
a difficult R-Problem that I cannot solve. I want to fill R-Objects
(whose names should depend on j) with numbers at the i-th position.
The resulting Objects should be something like:
RQuadratStep1, RQuadratStep2, RQuadratStep3 ... filled with Elements like
c(0.324, 0.456, 0.657 ...)
Below is a short version of

formatee el ordenador y ahora scripts antiguos no funcionan. La cuestión es
que me precupa que no funcione el ejemplo de tutorial del autor.
Os dejo un script que debería de funcionar y no lo hace

OggYUV
In response to (and with the help of) John Koleszar I put together an early
draft of OggYUV.. or rather, a list of header fields for it.
http://wiki.xiph.org/index.php/OggYUV
Feedback (on list or on wiki) is most certainly solicited, especially on the
chroma subsampling list (how many different sampling methods do we need to
reasonably support?) and if we've missed any fields to date.

problem authenticating win xp machine
Hi folks :-)
I'm just installing a fresh new samba server, and trying to authenticate
some win xp machines. The config is more or less like this :
* Windows XP SP1 with all security upgrades
* Samba 3.0.0final-1 running on debian testing
I'm more or less following this howto :

I'm using this smb.conf file :

SSH / PAM Problem
Hallo

dialplan execution stops after ReceiveFax
Hello,
I have a noticed strange behavior in Asterisk 1.6.18.2 with ReceiveFax
Digium FAX Driver: 1.6.2.0_1.3.0 (optimized for i686_32).
I use a context [capi-in] for icoming ISDN calls:

My macro for the fax receiving looks like that:

wiki & our community
I've noticed many people manually entering .. [[User:*|*]] on the talk pages to
sign their contributions..
Just a friendly note that "--~~~~" is shorthand for your signature w/ timestamp.
I just recently learned that, myself.
In addition, I'd like to say how awesome our little community of hackers have
been oven the past week. IRC, email, the lists, and the wiki have

The project has been forked, not superceded.
Work on OggPCM is continuing, the team working on OggPCM2 is free to submit
their own draft but some are not welcome to continue work on OggPCM due to
their recent social conduct.

OggPCM (uncompressed Ogg audio)
Hi Arc, illi,
I think it would be advantageous if we take the emotion out of this discussion , so let's just argue technically. My experience with xiph is that we are a very friendly community and trying to help each other and listen, so let's keep that culture up.
I think we all agree: it is a good idea to have an media mapping for ogg for uncompressed PCM.
As for what is required in a

residuals in plot.gam (mgcv)
Is there a way to add residuals to plots produced by plot.gam in the mgcv
package? I'm looking for something like what you get using resid=T in Splus
plot.gam.
Thanks in advance
Toby

"gam()" in "gam" package

I have a quenstion on "gam()" in "gam" package.
The help of gam() says:
'gam' uses the _backfitting
algorithm_ to combine different smoothing or fitting methods.
On the other hand, lm.wfit(), which is a routine of gam.fit() contains:
z <- .Fortran("dqrls", qr = x * wts, n = n, p = p, y = y *

Oh, thank god you corrected this. :-) I was contemplating an "OggVid" format,
and here is why I'm steering against it (though, yes, this has been a topic of

OggPCM version / header finalization
I have OggPCM (as currently defined) support implemented in mencoder and
mplayer. I'd like to request that we settle on modifications to this
header by the middle of next week or freeze the current header as the
official major version 1.0, so I can get the patches cleaned up and
released. We will be shipping a separate product based on this work in
the near-term future, and compatability
