TLS ca/cert/key creation
Really Rowland? As quoted: >> I believe I need to examine TLS since when I set "ldap server require >> strong auth = allow_sasl_over_tls" or "ldap server require strong >> auth = yes" user and group queries fail. This is OBVIOUSLY using LDAP and TLS. If this was via NTLM/Kerberos, the above setting wouldn't make the slightest difference. But all that

Installing Packages (fwd)
This depends whether you want to compile the packages yourself (here you need the extra tools) or just install the pre-compiled versions (here you don't need them). I would guess that most of the Windows users just do the latter and the installation is then straighforward by using the option "Packages" on the top menu. You can donload/install from CRAN or from a local zip file.

Re: Problem with Rails and OCI8
Here''s a solution to the OCI8 problem shown below (change /usr/local/oracle to your site''s oracle): If this happens when you are running scripts at the shell prompt: export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/local/oracle/lib If this happens in your apache error_log, add to httpd.conf: SetEnv LD_LIBRARY_PATH /usr/local/oracle/lib Kevin Kleinfelter If it''s not documented,

CircStats help
Hello, I am quite new to R and although I have read some material (apparently not enough) I'm getting very frustrated. I'm trying to do some simple circular statistics in R (CircStats, primarily circ.mean) and I'm confused about the results. What is a negative radian or degree mean in R? I thought it would be a coterminal angle, but that doesn't make sense with my data
