sm.density
Hello to everyone
I''ve downloaded the version sm2 for smoothing methods and when I try the simple code
y <- rnorm(50)
sm.density(y, model = "Normal")
I get the error message
Error in if (any(omit)) { : missing value where logical needed
I''m running R 1.1.1. on windows 98

smoothing binary data
I'm trying to figure out a good way to smooth binary data. The ideal
approach appears to be the "sm.logit" function in library "sm", but I
haven't had success with it. Below, is some code illustrating what I've come
up with so far, but I'm hoping there is a better approach. I'm using R 1.2
(development) under Windows 98.

re: problem installing library sm
Hi All,
I am having trouble installing the sm package, and only the sm package.
My box is RedHat 7.3 on a PIV. Readline 4.3-3 is installed (suited for
RH 8, but same error under readline 4.2 for RH 7.3), but it seems to be
looking for the readline library in the wrong directory. Will installing
readline 4.1 do the trick? What else could be done?

RID solved my problem. But while reading docs I saw new things and I
changed my smb.conf completely.
I have read almost every parameter but i'm still not %100 sure.
Can you do me a last favor?
Please can you tell me do I have any problem with new smb.conf?

sm.ancova graphic
Hi R-Users,
I am working with sm.ancova (in the package sm) and I have two problems with the graph, which is automatically generated when sm.ancova() is run.
1-Besides of the fitted lines, the observed data appeared automatically in the graph. I prefer that only fitted lines appear. I check the sm.options, but I could not find the way that the observed data do not appear in the graph.

Question about sm.options & sm.survival
Hi, there:
It's my first time to post question in this forum, so thanks for your
tolerance if my question is too naive. I am using a nonparametric smoothing
procedure in sm package to generate smoothed survival curves for continuous
covariate. I want to truncate the suvival curve and only display the part
with covariate value between 0 and 7. The following is the code I wrote:

Nonparametric analysis of repeated measurements data with sm library
Dear all,
Does anybody know how to get more evaluation points in performing Nonparametric analysis of repeated measurements data with "sm" library. The following command gives the estimation for 50 points, by I would like to increase to 100 points
But I do not know how to do that.

sm.regression
Hi all,
I was looking for a non parametric survival analysis and I came up with the
following sample from the web.
However, I could not run it. Which library or function does
"sm.regression" require?
x <- runif(100,-2, 2)
y <- x^2 + rnorm(50)
sm.regression(x, y, h=0.5)
Error: could not find function "sm.regression"
Thanks

Rwinst.exe problems
I've heard from several users who report no difficulties using the
Rwinst.exe installer for the released version of 1.2.0. I've blown away
all traces of 1.2.0 on my system and have re-downloaded all 10 zip files
and the installer on both my NT and Win2K boxes. The memory-overwrite
error persists on both systems, suggesting that there is some
incompatibility between the 1.2.0

sm.density.compare - a lot of curves
Dear all,
Let say I have a sets of numbers:
rno1 = rnorm(1000)
rno2 = rnorm(1000)
If I write request as follow:
sm.density.compare (rno, rno3, xfit=min(rno), max(rno2))
why I receive a lot of curves in my plot, while I have only two data sets?
regards

sm.options
Hi,
I am doing kernel density plots, and am trying to make the lines thicker. I
comparing three groups, in sm.density.compare. I tried changing lwd to make
the line sthicker right on the density compare call, but was not able to do
it. There is not an option in sm.options to specify line thickness, as well
as cex.ylab or cex.xlab- I tried it and it does not change the thickness of
the lines.

I assume the user used for sm-client is smmsp. However, that user has

FYI, that user has disabled login (which should be okay) and the group has

[sm.density.compare] scale up y-axis and additional line type
Dear fellows,
The two questions are on sm.density.compare(). I compare kernel density
estimates of two arrays of data.
I'd like to scale up y-axis so that I can show better the differences in
y values. English is not my first language so I'll try to explain it. I
would like to stretch y-axis a bit longer but not to change the range of
y values. How can I do this?
Second, I'm

Bug#717575: xcp-storage-managers: Wrong path of pidof in /usr/lib/xcp/sm/iscsilib.py
Package: xcp-storage-managers
Version: 0.1.1-3
Severity: normal
This was already reported in the archived bug 691805 but I sent an e-mail and I received back permanent delivery failure because this bugs has been archieved.
Still the path of "pidof" in the file /usr/lib/xcp/sm/iscsilib.py is wrong on Wheezy.
It should be /bin/pidof instead of /sbin/pidof
