Re: problem posting to r-help list
You are using the wrong make. Please read the instructions very carefully.
You _must_ use the cygwin make with the supplied Makefiles. As INSTALL says:
You will also
need suitable versions of at least make, sh, rm, sed, (g)awk, mkdir,
echo, cp, cut, diff, grep, egrep, pwd, expr and cat; we use those from
the cygwin distribution (http://sourceware.cygnus.com/cygwin and

Rcmd SHLIB under NT
Hello:
I'm trying to use Rcmd SHLIB to compile a single file, sann.c, to
get sann.dll.
I was able to get
make libR.a
to work, after going into MkRules and changing the line
DLLTOOL=$(BINPREF)dlltool -k --as $(AS)
to read
DLLTOOL=C:/MINGW-1.1/bin/dlltool -k --as $(AS)
But now I get:
C:\rw1051\src\gnuwin32>Rcmd SHLIB sann.c
make: make: Command not found

No subject
Does anyone know of any comprehensive literature (like a book, collection of
articles, etc.) that walk thorugh example of ARIMA modeling with the ts
package of R? Genarlly if you've just started to learn the R-language and
are all week long with ARIMA, what is a fast-pace source that you would
recommend (to a beginner) ?
Thank you,
Krasi

Build R-patched from Source
Hi,
If I want to build R-patched from source (on Windows), do I need to edit
Makefile and/or MkRules at all?
I have followed all instructions in the INSTALL file (under
R-patched/src/gnuwin32/), as well as downloaded all the files from
http://www.stats.ox.ac.uk/pub/Rtools/ . My PATH variable has been
modified accordingly.
Now, with the only change to MkRules I made was to modify the Tcl/Tk

Error with Web Service tests after upgrading to Rails 1.1.2
Hello.
I hope this is the right place to describe my problem ?
After upgrading to Rails version 1.1.2 from rails version 1.0.0, Web
Service functional tests seem broken.
I upgraded rails (as the root user / administrator) with:
# gem update rails --include-dependencies
then I upgraded my application (as myself) with:
? rake rails:update
% rake rails:update:configs
After these steps,

R-beta: R-0.61.3 for Win95/NT available
I have just put on ftp://sirio.stat.unipd.it/pub/R a new version
of R for Win95/NT.
The main difference concerns dynamic linking (see below).
In addition, the binary distribution contains many of the
available packages (all the ones that I have installed on
my Unix machine).
In the afternoon, I will upload the files on CRAN.

R-devel (1.7 to be) on windows XP
Hola!
I'm trying to make r-devel on windows XP. I downloaded an hour ago
R-1.7.0beta_2003-03-30.tar.gz
make terminates without any error messages, with
make check I get error messages from tests of internet and
socket functions, surely because my modem was not
connected (It doesn't say in the documentation (file INSTALL)
that internet must be connected under make check.)
But the file

I'm trying to build the 1.4.0 development version of R for Windows.
I'll be posting problems as they arise, until I give up (or succeed),
or someone asks me to stop.
1. I don't have zlib, the compression library. The source file
gnuwin32/unzip/WHERE says to get it from
ftp://ftp.info-zip.org/pub/infozip/zlib/zlib.html; that web site says
it has been closed and redirects me to
