R-beta: 3d visualisations
Is someone working on a 3d vizualisation set of functions ? I read dream dream dream in PROJECTS about 3D GRAPHICS. When I want to visualize 3d data, I use Geomview but with a dataset greater than 50x50 that's too hard for my poor computer. I know a little R but nothing with S+, are the plan to emulate S+ or to have R functions to visualize 3d data ? -- Hervé Dréau Interne en Médecine hdreau

FW: samba woes
All, I have been working on a component that is included with samba called SMBSH. The binary allows you to automount your NT shares by accessing your profile . I have been working on this for the last few days and have been unsuccesful at getting it work. Now I am not much of a programmer, but I did my best to try and troubleshoot this. However it just does not want to work in Linux. I

bug in lastlog logging?
Folks; I couldn't find anything on my archive of the mailing list on this, and it may just be my mis-understanding, but: When I "ssh machine1 -l user1" as user2 on machine2, if user2 has the same uid on machine1, then user2's name ends up in lastlog, instead of user1's. This is a bit disconcerting when user2 is root, and root isn't allowed to remotely log in on

APC Back-UPS CS and ES series
I'm using FreeNAS 9.1, and I've just got an APC Back-UPS CS 500. In theory it's supported by NUT, but the latest released version (2.6.5) doesn't have support for it (the driver reports an error, which is apparently due to an overflow). According to a thread on the mailing list, Back-UPS ES series requires a fix that's in source control, and CS series requires an additional

RedHat 6.0 RPM of R
Hi, One of my lecturers is putting together an applications CD to go with RedHat 6.0 with stuff he thinks would be useful for his students. He wants to put R on it, but he's having trouble compiling R and using an RPM on RH 6.0. It appears to be either kernel or glibc related, but I don't have the time right now to figure out what the problem is (exams...). Does anyone have an RPM of R
