R-beta: R-0.62.1 under Digital Unix
I am grateful for the advice of Douglas Bates on my earlier problem in making R-0.62.1, but I'm afraid I'm still having problems.... I have been installing the various updates to R for quite some time on my alpha, and it is only now that I have been having really severe problems. The three or 4 versions before 0.61.1 installed without error. For 0.61.1 I needed to install GNU make. For

I am trying to make the R-0.62.1 distribution on a DEC alpha running Digital Unix 3.2d. I have run into a few problems..... (1) the Makefile in src/graphics need to have INCLUDES= -I../include not -I ../include (2) I have the standard DEC fortran 90 compiler which needs to link R.binary with a -nofor_main flag. The appropriate slot in config.site appears to be ignored, which means Makeconf

R-beta: locfit package.
I was wondering if someone could help me with a problem getting locfit running. I am running Digital Unix 3.2D on an alphastation, with R 0.61.1 I downloaded the CRAN distribution of locfit. I had no problems installing it with R INSTALL (I installed it into my library rather than the default base library; the output is attached at the end of this email message). I then tried to test it with the

R-beta: R-0.62.1 under Digital Unix: plot.new
I am trying to set up R-0.62.1 on an alphastation running digital unix 3.2D. I had R-0.61.1 working fine, but have had a number of problems getting 0.62.1 going.... The next problem is that plotting to any device causes R to hang. Looking at processor usage it would appear that it gets stuck in an infinite loop rather than pausing for input. I have managed to track the problem down to plot.new().

R-alpha: Rprofiles
The x11() window can be a nuisance to have popping up at startup (esp. on small screens) when you're not working with graphics. However, currently you can't get rid of it without modifying the systemwide Rprofile. Current logic is: Run $RHOME/library/Rprofile if ./.Rprofile exists run it else if $HOME/.Rprofile exists run that endif I think it should be Run $RHOME/library/Rsetup if

qplot in ggplot2 not working any longer - (what did I do?)
This is the first time that I have tried to update packages with a tinkered around with .Rprofile. I start R with R --vanilla and it does not load my .Rprofile, but when I issue the command update.packages() R downloads the packages as expected, but then seems to load .Rprofile before compiling the packages sources. What am I doing wrong? kindest regards, Stephen Sefick see- Session info

Bridge configuration in Asterisk 13 [Spam score:8%]
Thanks Richard. This is exactly the answer I was looking for. I'm now assuming that Asterisk 11 was using it's equivalent "bridge_simple" but I was getting confused because the only bridge module I saw in modules.conf was bridge_softmix. When I upgraded to Asterisk13 that would have been the only bridge getting loaded at first. Is it expected that if bridge_softmix handled a

R CMD build failure
I have a local library 'dart' that imports "httr". It has routines that access central patient data such as birth date, so it is heavily used locally but of no interest to anyone else. The httr library (and 300 others) are in a shared directory, referenced by everyone in the biostatistics group via adding this location to the .libPaths in their default .Rprofile.

All, 1. I will try and make this clear and concise. Please let me know any information that would be helpful in figuring out this problem (I don't know the relevant information to post). I am on linux- see below for session information. 2. Problem: working directory: home an old version of a function is sourced into the R session and doesn't work working directory: Desktop the

I have just upgraded to R 2.13 and have library(ggplot2) in my .Rprofile (among other things). when i start R I get an error message. Has something in the start up scripts changed? Is there a better way to specify the library calls in .Rprofile? Thanks for all of the help in advance. Bivariate Partial Dependence Plots in Random Forests
Hello, I was wondering if anyone knew of an R function/R code to plot bivariate (3 dimensional) partial dependence plots in random forests (randomForest package). It is apparently possible using the rgl package (http://esapubs.org/archive/ecol/E088/173/appendix-C.htm) or there may be a more direct function such as the pairplot() in MART (multiple additive regression trees)? .Rprofile on MacOSX
I'm new to R, so apologies if the answer to my question is very obvious to everyone else! I use the carbon version of R (1.5.1), not the Darwin version. After a bit of a battle, I'm getting to grips with using R, and really getting to like it, but I'm still having trouble customising startup the way I'd like it. Reading ?Startup, I see that I can specify some commands to be run

Cross compiling a package for Windows on Linux
I would like to compile for Windows a rather simple R package that contains some C code. It does not contain any Fortran code. I tried the cross-compilation route using the pre-built set of tools from http://www.devolution.com/~slouken/SDL/Xmingw32/, as described in $R_SRC/src/gnuwin32/INSTALL Using the sources in r-devel from the rsync site I am able to build libR.a in src/gnuwin32 but I
